A year or two ago I made a subscription to have a Skype local phone number. I do not really remember the cost at that time. Today I noticed that my Skype credit was down a big amount so I looked for the reason. I found out that they had charged me $60 to renew this subscription for this phone number. That was in March 22 (or close to that date). That was also about three weeks ago. I said that I wanted the fee refunded that I did not use it or want it. I had already paid for one year and that number was very little used. I figure that he lied to me and said that the number had been used twice since it had been renued --- big deal, the cost of that is pennies. He said it was policy. Well it was policy at one time to gas the Jews but that did not make it the correct policy.
It is a RIP off policy and everyone knows it who has to deal with it.
I signed up for skype service March 10th.. I made a call to a gentleman March 10th that was going to interview me on a BBQ radio show. A few minutes later, I called into the radio station and talked with him for an hour long show. I made a few called to a friend and my mother, that's all.
I left the computer for a while, I came back to use Skype and I was logged out. I tried logging back in, but my password would not work. I did everything I could to try to reset it, but I was locked out. I had to wait more than 24 hours and still nothing. I went searching all over to try to find customer service.. Finally, I found some form to fill out. After literally at least 10 minutes of question after question, it finally sent the form..
I got this response back that they restricted my account, i cannot use it again. Violation of the terms and agreement. They will not tell me what I did wrong, but I did nothing wrong to get cut.
I requested my money back, they said they are not giving me my money back.. I called PayPal, they won't back me. I have to call the bank Monday.
They cannot get away with this, they are ripping people right and left off and getting away with it.
I opened an account with Skype.com back in 2010. I purchased $20 worth of credit so that I could make calls to persons that did not have Skype accounts, which costs extra. Shortly after I opened the Skype account, my credit card number was compromised and unauthorized purchases were being made, resulting in me having to cancel my old credit card number and obtain a new one.
After cancelling my old credit card, Skype.com suspended my account. Since then, I have not been able to make calls, even to persons who have Skype accounts. In addition to that, they seized my Skype credit--about $18 worth at that time.
For the past several years, I have contacted Skype's customer support regarding this matter. They have not been helpful. I am never given the opportunity to speak to a real person via phone. I only get emails from individuals with fake names. They keep asking for my old credit card number, which I no longer have. When I explain to them why I had to cancel my old credit card number and get a new one, only then will they reactivate my account but shortly after, I get notifications that my account will soon expire. This has happened 3 or 4 times now so now I am VERY DISSATISFIED!
This is the address of Skype.com--somewhere in France; however, I'm beginning to wonder if it is ficticious, like their customer service reps: Skype Communications S.A.R.L. 23-29 Rives de Clausen, L-2165 Luxembourg.
In closing, I would like to know if this is happening to other Skype users and if so, how many?
I had a small charge of .56 from Skype Luxembourg LU on 10/22/12, and then another $16.08 charge the same day from them. I cannot contact them or E mail them, as the numbers are not correct. If I do a dispute with my bank, my card is frozen for ten days and all the other accounts associated with it. I did NOT order any Skype service - EVER!
My circle of endless fruitless communications with Skype began with me not being able to sign on to use Skype. I have been using it for years both to Skype and, more recently, to make telephone calls. When not able to sign in, I tried what I thought were the correct passwords, emails, etc. but was told that I was not able to be verified and sent to a link: support.microsoft.com/skype/hostpage.aspx?language=en&locale=en-us&oaspworkflow=start_1.0.0.0&needslogin=false&wfname=skype&supportoption=email&SupportTopic_L1=32090809&SupportTopic_L2=32090839&ccsid=635174617998361738 I completed this to the best of my ability. But NOOOO, this was not good enough (yet it asks a lot, an incredible amount, of personal information that should be verifiable). I was sent another email telling me that the expert could not verify me. I duly went to the verification site again - filled it out again - got another email saying that I could not be verified - then tried again - all the time also being sent a link to their oh so wonderful privacy policy. In my last few rounds of emails I have sent a request to have a refund - I have been told that they cannot do this because I cannot be verified. I am asking for a blank refund form - this does not require me to be identifiable - it requires them to send me a blank refund form. I went to the Skype site to lodge a complaint - this time emailing [email protected] - found on an obscure place in which another complaint had been lodged with Skype. This is an email that is no longer active! I then tried to type in 'refund' or 'complaint' = no help for those of us who, again, have been 'non-verified'. This is simply theft and must be stopped, as must this policy of wearing people out with endless emails about how they understand this is frustrating and thanking us for our patience.
I noticed a charge for a Skype account that I believd I had previously cancelled and when i couldnt remember my login info to cancel it it sent me an email that listed 5 different accounts with them !!! So since they have my credit card on account when these were opened they just have been deducting for years! There is no waay to cancel without login info so I called their customer support number and spoke with adam. I told him I wanted all 5 canceled immediately and any refund he could manage for their numerous charges! He told me in order to do so there would be a charge of $150.00 to do so! Legal action or small claims I'm not sure but to charge a customer to cancel is unacceptable!!!!
They overcharged me for the account, then somehow suspended my account. When I try to file complaint or get a refund, they say they can't verify my identity. You can't speak with anyone. It's a complete run around and you can't get a response about the fees or overcharges.

They conned me into buying call credits after I subscribed and I never got a connection. Now I can't contact anyone to get a refund. It's fraud!!
