I pay for "up to" 10 Mbps. During evenings, we typically experience 4 Kbps (or 0.4 Mbps). That is 4 % of what we pay for. Sometimes in the evenings, our service drops entirely. We use the tool provided by Skybeam to measure performance. As a result, my family is unable to enjoy online entertainment.

During the day, I typically experience between 1 and 2 Mbps. That means between 10 and 20% of what I pay for. This daytime service shortfall seriously impacts my ability to do my job.

Typically, Skybeam's customer service people do not recognize that they have a problem. They stupidly attempt to troubleshoot a problem in my wireless network, which I already know to be working perfectly. However, one knowledgeable service rep recently admitted that Skybeam had oversold their capacity. I was extended the offer to adjust my monthly bill by 20%. I accepted the offer, but have not been given any refunds for the many months of terrible service.

In years past, we had two ISPs where we live. But Skybeam bought the competitor I was using. Thus, I have no choice today but to use Skybeam, or to move.
