I bought the "Liftime" XM subscription years ago when transferring my monthly subscription to my new radio. Something I wass NOT in the market for nor did I want to commit to such aextensive contract, lifetime is like, oh I don't know, a LIFETIME.
I argued for several minutes with the sales guy about the offer, I almost hung up. I was driving, in traffic and really didn't feel like arguing, I just wanted to activate my new radio.
Well, after drilling the sales guy about the "Lifetime" agreement, he assured me I could transfer up to 5 radios at no charge! So I did it, I paid $400.00 for the lifetime membership.
Recenty I purchased a new vehicle and it has XM built in, thank god because the radio I was using was an add on, ran through my tape player, yes I said tape player. I was so excited to get rid of the "Roady" and have built in XM with seamless interaction. Much safer, XM doesn't care about your safety.
So I called XM and said I would like to activate my new radio, use up one of my 5 radio transfers, they said fine, no problem, and by the way, it's only 3. Even though the salesman clearly said 5. I have the email to proove it. I gave them my radio id and then they hit me with a $75.00 charge! What! $75.00! No way am I paying that. The sales guy said, NO CHARGE to transfer. Liars!
So "F" them, I have unlimted data on my cell phone, I get XM on my cell phone, I have blue tooth connectiivity on my new ride. So I just listen through it, not paying the $75.00, they can do what they told me to do, go pound sand!
