This company sent me an email regarding an application I filled out. Now they are no where to be found. They made me use a credit report site and give them my account number to prove I did it so they could do a credit report on me.
I have received your application for the opening 'Mail Room Position Available' in Modesto, California, with a pay of $40,000. My client has expressed interest in organizing an interview for this opening.
Can you let me know via our booking system which dates and times are most suitable and provide the rest of your candidate details. The address below will guide you through this process.
I followed a link for a job online that showed the income amount and a general description.
I filled out the information from the apply link, submitted my resume and cover letter in the links provided.
I received the following email 2 days later on a Friday:

I followed the link and filled out another job application that requested all my information.
At the end, it stated that I needed a Credit Verification Report, it gave the Link for credtireport.com, I had to sign up for the service ($1 to start, and $24.xx each month until cancelled). The online form wanted the Credit Report user number entered at the end.
Nothing was heard on Monday, and I sent a reply email back to the email address requesting some response.
I tried to log into the link (above) from the email and the site was not available.
Nothing. It was then that I put the pieces together and filed a Fraud report with Credit Report and with Experian.
