I used silverback moving March 22, 2014 and my service was absolutely terrible. Worst experience of my life. Over the phone they seemed like a really nice moving company I had a couple other companies in mind but silverback had so many bad things to say about the other company that they persuaded me into utilizing their services thinking they were saving me from a bad move. I spoke with the owner over the phone he gave me an estimate of between $400 - $500 and said I would receive a discount if I paid in cash instead of with a credit card. Happy with my estimate I made my deposit and booked my move.
The movers were to be at my home by 10am they did not arrive until 1pm after I had to call and 5 times receiving several b.s excuses for why they were late. Once they arrived I felt like they sent the most unprofessional men they could find. One was on his cell phone damn near half the move and the other one kept taking smoke breaks and asking for water. While moving my Marble table they chipped the front and the back end and tried to tell me that it was already like that. They did not shrink wrap my televisions or any of my glass items and 2 of my lamps were broken, the headboard to my bed was broken and I am still missing some jewelry that had sentimental value to me.
My move was not finished until almost 8pm because the movers were extremely slow and procrastinating my move. But of course they are paid by the hour so why wouldn't they try to slow my move down to make some extra money they didn't earn. Everytime I asked the movers to place something in a certain area or arrange something a particular they would get mad and say thats not part of their job. Your a moving company how isn't it part of your job?? Then they had the nerve to ask would they be receiving a tip. My children were home they are only 5 and 7 the movers asked me to keep my bad a** kids out the way and used various other forms of profanity in front of my children.
When my move was finished my bill was $1500 which is 3 times the amount I was estimated from the owner himself. One of the reasons I chose this company is because in the midst of them bashing other moving companies they told me they give real time estimates and other companies will lie to me. Well clearly silverback are the liars. The movers refused to explain my bill to me but expected me to pay it. They told me explaining the bill is not their job with a very arrogant attitude and said to call the owner but he would probably tell me the same thing.
I call the owner expecting him to correct a mistake that clearly had to have been made and be as polite as he was on the phone. NO!! I got the exact opposite he says my bill is $1500 and I have to pay it or they will take it off the card I mademy deposit with. With an attitude he says to me that I have to calculate the $200 service fee which was never mentioned, the $150 marble fee which was never mentioned amongst other fees they never tell you about like fuel/travel. Why is there a service fee, and a fuel and travel fee. I had to take my kids to the ATM and get the additional money after wasting 45 monutes on the phone with the owner who eventually started yelling and cursing at me because I was unhappy with my bill and I did not tip his movers.
The owner and the movers were rude, disrespectful and dishonest. I filed a claim about my furniture and was told that it would be replaced. Here we are in June and my furniture has not been replaced nobody has contacted me about it and I have left numerous messages and voicemails. I never received the so called discount for paying cash and now of course I am continuously being ignored. This is the worse company I have ever used. I understand why they bash other moving companies they will never get business unless they try to make another company look bad, $75/hour plus cash discount still ends up being $1500???
I WOULD NOT SUGGEST THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE YOU WILL BE SORRY THAT YOU USED THEM. YOUR FURNITURE WILL BE DAMAGED, ITEMS WILL COME UP MISSING AND YOUR INSURANCE CLAIM WILL REMAIN A CLAIM. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK.
