My husband received an email from [email protected]. The email offered a survey about his experiences as a Verizon customer, and in return he would receive a free gift, for which he would only have to pay shipping and handling. He filled out the survey and put in his debit card number for the shipping and handling.
About a week later small charges appeared on our bank account for shipping and handling, and a package came with expensive skin care creams. I put them away, unopened, and saved the padded envelope in case I needed it later.
About a week and a half after the package arrived, two charges appeared on our bank account, each for $150. $300 was charged for these lotions, and they were supposed to be free.
The charges on the account are listed as from the Bautemer and Stemologica, which are the names of these cosmetics companies. But the return address on the envelope has no company listed; it is only the following:
Customer Care
Shipping Department
122 Smith Hines Rd
Greenville SC 29607-5707
I will change our debit card, just in case, so they cannot charge us for anything else. I plan on returning these lotions and demanding a refund, but I don't really know how to do it because I don't want these scammers to have further access to our debit card number.
Obviously the survey was not from Verizon. I don't know which company this is and I see there is another complaint on this site about this address.
