received the email below on 7/9/2014. Our SEO company gives us great results, so I knew this was a scam, and I was right. We’re based in Long Island, New York. I ran a Google search on the scammer’s phone number and that brought up several pages featuring the same copy and pasted message that we received:
http://www.elliottgarber.com/contact-me/
http://www.mintconditiondaily.com/contact/
http://www.imnotobsessed.com/contact/
http://www.hilliardglass.com/?page_id=83
Highly unethical! The phone number searches on Google also brought up different SEO Websites, including:
http://seocompany777.com/contact-us
http://ampedsem.com
http://leadgeneration360.com/contact-us/
When I tried to visit the first Website, my computer’s security software triggered a warning for suspicious activity: http://s22.postimg.org/5uvmrbu1d/scam.jpg
Worse, the scammer’s phone number is listed among several auto telemarketer Websites, including: http://www.callferret.com/818-746-3359.html
Also, for someone who bills themselves as an “experienced marketing analyst,” it is highly suspicious that there is no professional social networking profile (LinkedIn) associated with a “Matt Henley,” with online marketing experience. A LinkedIn account is “marketing 101” for anyone with even basic marketing knowledge.
