My friend in the US used send.com to purchase and ship one bottle of bourbon that is unavailable locally in canada. One bottle plus shipping = $180.00 but he was willing to pay that in order to get me this for christmas.
In mid january after calling several times as to why it hadnt arrived send.com claimed a delivery had been attempted, but the package was in the wrong city on the mainland, where we are on an island, proving an delivery attempt was never made. finally after many calls and emails a package was delivered. the bourbon i received was not what was ordered or listed on the packing sheet that was in the box with it. rather, a crappy brand I could have picked up anywhere here. send.com then sent me an email with an addresss and asked me to put it in a box and ship it back at my expense so they could issue a refund to my friend who purchased it. which felt a bit like extortion. "if you ever want your friend to see his money again ....pay to send us the box you never asked for in the first place.."
i have asked aend.com to send a courier to pick it up at thier expense and will see. if they do i'll upgrade my rating because thy will have finally done something right, however i never got the gift. and we've abandoned all hope of getting it.
I advise readers to save themselves the heartache and hassle of dealing with this company.
