My wife and I are asking for your immediate assistance in removing the derogatory account that you have reported to the credit agencies.
My wife is new to the country; she speaks and understands very little English. She opened a credit account and made a small purchase at the time the account was opened and I wasn’t present to oversee the transaction.
We are very responsible people and we pay all of our bills. We don’t buy things that we can’t afford PERIOD
We are currently, in the process of purchasing a home and after meeting with our loan office we were informed that there was a collection on my wife’s credit report. We immediately called the number that was on the credit report.
After identifying ourselves to the agent, we explained that we never received any card or statements associated with the card. The agent on the phone verified our address and the agent pointed out that the bank didn’t have our actual apartment number. I live in a 40 unit apartment complex.
We will take full responsibility in paying for everything that my wife purchased however it appears that the card was delivered to the wrong address and someone else made some charges on the account. In hopes of immediately rectifying the issue we will agree to pay the entire balance of the account. In researching this issue we found that the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Credit Billing Act protects in this situation.
We would like for your company to immediately remove the derogatory remarks from all of the credit agencies that you have reported my wife too. We are also asking for your company to phone me so I can pay the bill immediately. In addition were asking for a letter stating that the account was a billing error, so that we aren’t denied the loan that we are applying for.
