Santander Reviews
We had two car payments taken over by Santander from CitiFinancial. One car was paid in full but there is still a balance
on the credit report for more than $3000.00 from 2003 and we have yet to receive the paperwork stating that the
payments were completed. The second had nearly $3000.00 from an initial loan in 2006 added to the initial balance
for a vehicle that we willingly returned to the creditor because it was essentially a lemon; they picked up the vehicle from
a maintenance shop and it was in repair more than it was on the road. The vehicle broke down more than eight times
in the past eight years with each repair in excess of nearly $1500.00, due to a faulty gearshift column. The vehicle
stopped in traffic on a busy Atlanta highway on several occasions. Due to constraints on military pay, full-time
attendance in college and general underemployment, I was unable to maintain car payments and repair payments
and had to borrow vehicles to attend military duty. Despite making agreements with Santander, we were still
overcharged by them. This has caused an undue stress, not just on me but my entire family. Something has to be
done about this, seriously.
On November 10, the amount was listed at more than $6000.00 for the second vehicle. On November 11, we were
offered a settlement of a little more than $3000.00. Another letter in November listed the amount at more than
$6000.00 once again.
