I want to say is save your money if you intend on making a purchase from this company. Based on all the positive testimonials, the you tube video, and the Money Back Guarantee, I purchased the standard Thermagasket Head & Block Treatment Kit with Flush Kit & Extreme Cooling System Cleaner for $113.90 plus $16.00 for shipping. Silly me, I actually thought this product might work.
As I anxiously waited one week for my for my order to arrive, it never came. I emailed Lisa on May 9th, the person that emailed my order confirmation on May 2, 2014, and let her know that the product did not arrive yet. I received a return email that stated due to a glitch in their system, my order had not gone out. She reassured me it would ship that day. This was my first disappointment. Four days the kit arrived, but not before a second kit was sent that had to be returned. It seems the tracking number on the original package could not be tracked due to a USPS glitch. I informed Kirk at RxAuto that the first package arrived on May 14th, and the second package would be returned if received. RxAuto sells another kit the applies if you have coolant in your oil. At the time I ordeded, I did not have coolant in the oil, however after back-flushing and before adding the Thermagasket components on May 14th, I checked the oil and discovered I did have coolant in the oil, so I contacted RxAuto, Kirk as well as Support by email on how to proceed. I thought I may need the third component of the system which turned out to be crankcase cleaner.
Kirk did not respond to my email and Support sent an automatic response email telling me their office hours and that an assciate will contacting me shortly. As it turns out I am still waiting for a response from the associate. Disappointment Number Two! I was already delayed a week by the arrival of the package and thought I had to wait another three days for a response, because RxAuto does not work on weekends. After determining on my own that I did not need the crankcase cleaner, I let the oil drain overnight and proceeded to follow the remaining instructions. I added the thermagasket components and ran the engine up to operating speed. The clouds of steam were reduced to a manageable and I thought hurray, my gasket problem was solved. Then I checked the fresh oil, only to find it looking like chocolate milk. Disappointment Number Three! According to their instructions if this happened, I needed to change the oil and filter again. So I did this and ran the engine up to operating speed. Same result. Chocolate oil.
Remember that Money Back Guarantee they offer and touted on their web page. Well, there are strings attached. First you must contact their technical support staff and obtain a FTA NUMBER (failed treatment number) that only they can dispense. Next you must mail them a filled out form with this number, a copy of your invoice, and here is the kicker, one of the following "Acceptable Documents"; 1. A repair work order from a licensed mechanics shop which states the vehicle has been diagnosed with a blown head gasket, cracked head or cracked block, dated after your original Thermagasket order; 2. Invoice of parts and machine work for replacing the head gasket dated after your original Thermagasket purchase; and the third acceptable document is a receipt from a wrecking yard, tow Company, or charity vehicle donation center showing the car has been disposed or donated, dated after your original purchase. In other words, the whole point of ordering this product is to avoid the costlier repairs is a waste of time. By the way, they attach a 25% restocking fee on their half used material, if you get that far.
Again rather than wait on a response from support, that still has not come at this writing, I flushed my cooling system of the original thermagasket application, changed the oil and filter again, and started over. The only difference this time is the oil is milky white. Again following instructions, I changed the oil and filter, and ran the engine up to operating speed. Same result. Milky oil, in addition to have an engine that has a hard time idling now. At this point I have given up on RXAuto Thermagasket LLC.
My advice. SAVE YOUR MONEY if you are thinking of purchasing this product.
