Victim Statement:
I needed someone to recover my outdoor furniture cushions and fabricate custom Sunbrella covers for them. I checked on craigslist.com and found Rudy Sanchez's ad. I contacted him and he said he could do the work for me. I scheduled an appointment for him to come to my house for a quote. On April 21st 2014, Rudolfo Luis Sanchez and his wife Sheila E Reaves Sanchez came to my house and measured my furniture haphazardly and said they could order the material and gave me a quote of $1,830.00. They required a check deposit of 50% to order the material. I gave them the check. They went immediately to my bank and cashed the check. After at least 20 promises to complete the work and missed appointments, I demanded my money back. He has an excuse for every missed and cancelled appointment. Some border on riduculous, some border on asinine. The first time he held me off for a week was due to his "best friend" having a bad car wreck. He held me off for another week to remeasure my furniture due to the wind being quite strong and he had to cut a pattern. Then a week later he held me off for another week due to "heart problems" and that he couldn't get his medication. I'm now becoming skeptical. Then, for a couple of weeks he told me his son had been in a bad car wreck and that he was staying with him at the Centenniel Hills hospital in Las Vegas. I'd bet my money that his kid never was in the hospital. One of the most riduculous missed appointments was when he set an appointment to come to my house. He then phoned me on my cell which was downstairs and I didn't see if for about 30 minutes. I then called him and he said "I was 2 seconds from your house" but you didn't answer your phone so I went home. What a crock of S&*^. If he was 2 seconds, which is impossible, he would have continued on.
Another appointment was set for his usual 4-5PM. I was driving on the freeway and there was traffic. He said there's no way for him to make it to my house by the time we had set. I asked him where he was located and he told me. Ironically, I was within a quarter mile of where he was, so I said yes there is time and told him to continue to my house that I would wait. He refused to continue to our appointment and said he couldn't make it in time. More BS.
For the last week or so as of June 12, 2014, he has been telling me a guy named Jeff is having him do work on his boat at Lake Mead. I'll be confirming this today when I go to his place of employment.
I've lost numerous hours of work due to this a**hole. This guy is an absolute nut job as well as a thief. I have confirmed with other upholstery shops in the area that he has done the same thing to others. I have also made contact with another one of his "customers" that he took her furniture and her money and she has been unable to get either back.
On June 12, 2014, I located his employer, which for the moment won't be named. An employee I spoke to confirmed that Rodolfo Luis Sanchez, (Rudy Sanchez) is messed up and that he has done the same thing to other people. I also spoke to a police seargent who told me this could be a criminal complaint and that it all depends on whether the DA will take it or not. I didn't think it could be criminal, but I'm going to get to work on that. Since I'm 90% certain I'm never going to see my money, it will give me great pleasure to see him arrested and off the streets for a couple of hours at least.
