In February 2012, I purchased a Vintage French Mid-Century Moderne tapestry entitled "Oiseaux Lyre" from Butler & Butler Gallery on RubyLane (www.rubylane.com/shop/collectorsdelights) for $1,550.00. It was falsely represented and marketed as an original work by Man Ray (born Emmanuel Radnitzky, August 27, 1890 – November 18, 1976). In October 2014, during an insurance appraisal, it was confirmed by the manufacturer to be by the French artist Michelle Ray (b. 1933). I presented all of the research documents from the investigation to the proprietor, Sandra Butler. She refused to provide me with the tapestry's provenance and declined the return/refund of the merchandise.
