Royal Seal Windows & Doors Reviews

  • Dec 18, 2014

Don’t order windows from Royal Seal Windows and Doors or you very likely will regret it, especially the after sale service even if you sign a contract. All these good reviews here I believe are from this guy who call himself Mark Shvartsman the person who I dealt with and whose real name is Nataliya Shvartsman. I also believe he is the owner or co owner of this operation. He would be the nicest person to you until you sign the contract and then it would be impossible to get him to answer you calls after the installation is done, and if he does he would immediately hang up on you or make some excuse and hang up.

I contacted this person after he left a flyer at my place about a year before, and I arranged with him for an estimate to replace four windows; I also had two other estimates from two reputable companies. I was still in the process of deciding which of these companies I should go with when I started to receive nonstop calls from Mark, almost on a daily basis and at all times. He was trying to convince and force me to go with his company because of the transferable lifetime warranty etc.

I ignored this guy for months mainly because I wanted to have this installation done next year and also to have some more quotes, but I finally give up because of his relentless calls and give him the job to do.

The quote from Royal Seal was about $250 dollars cheaper than the other two companies; but these other companies were offering lifetime warranty on glass breakage and Lowe 3 glasses. These are things that Royal Seal doesn’t offer.

I signed the contract he provided and give him a down payment, that’s when everything started to go wrong.

The measurement were taken more than a week later, and after many calls, than was promised and it was also starting to get very difficult to get a hold of Mark. Getting in touch with him was never a problem before the contract was signed.

Less than two days after the measurement were taken I called and ask him if I could make some minor changes to the windows and I would pay the difference. I was immediately told that it’s too late because the windows were already being made, even though it took nearly a month after the measurement and many calls to finally been told that they were now completed. I also asked Mark to have the glasses change to Lowe 3 glasses that almost every company is offering now, but I was told that Window City doesn’t carry those glasses so I can’t have them.

I was provided a date and time for the installation and I accepted and agreed to this and took the day off work. Nearly an hour over the agreed installation time had passed and no one showed up and I received no calls either.

I call Mark several times and he finally answered his phone and told me he will call the installers and get back to me. After a long wait he finally called me and told me his installers were running late because they were having problems installing a door for someone, he assured me that they would be at my place in an hour the latest.

Nearly an hour and a half past and I heard nothing I called Mark and was once again put on hold, I was told this time that the guys are still not finish and they would be at my place in about two hours.

I told Mark this was unacceptable, his installers are already two hours late and he is now telling me to wait another two hours which would be after five o clock and difficult for them to see what they were doing. He immediately started to shout and scream at me (he was no longer the nice soft spoken guy I knew before I signed the contract) and told me that I should be patient and that things happen and they would use flash lights to install these windows like they have done many times before at other places.

He also insisted these windows must be installed that very day and he would take me to court if I cancel and don’t have them installed. The installers came over four hours late and installed the windows for nearly two hours using flashlights, I still have doubt about the quality of installation done by them in the dark.

The next day I took the labels off the windows and decided to look at the ratings etc, I was shocked to discover that almost all the labels were different from each other even though the glasses were all supposed have been Lowe 2 with Argon gas etc.

I also discovered the labels were showing that I got two different types of window frames, instead of Heritage Max 401, I got 401 and 400.

I immediately contacted Mark, the next day, and explained the labels not matching what I ordered, I was rudely told by him that he was busy helping the installers and that I should call Window City and ask them about this.

I contacted Window City and was told that it’s usually the dealer who would contact them for something like this and not his customers, and one production guy I spoke to there also told me it’s not normal for something like this to happen and he asked me to send him pictures of the labels and that he would look into it. Weeks after this Window City still couldn’t figure out what happened.

I tried calling Mark and texting him many times and was only able to get a hold of him when I blocked out my number. He asked me to send him pictures of the labels and he would be at Window City the next day and talk to them about this and he would let me know. After over a week went by and I haven’t heard from him I decided to call him and inquire what Window City has told him, but he refuses to answer his phone and to respond to my texts. I have since tried contacting this man dozens of times but was unsuccessful.

This guy refuses to honor the signed contract with lifetime warranty less than a day after the installation was done; even though all I am asking him to do is to verify with Window City that I received the correct windows and explained the wrong labels. I can only imagine what would happen if someone really tries to make a claim under his lifetime warranty.

Going with his company was not worth the $250 I thought I was saving, pay more and go with a reputable company that would honor their contract and warranty.

Everyone should be aware the type of person this guy is, he is not to be trusted and he is a crook.

It's nearly three months now since the installation and I am still unable to get in touch with this person (Nataliya Shvartsman) Mark. He answered his phone a few weeks ago when I blocked my number out and when he realized it’s me he said “I am out of the country” and hang up. I am going to let as many people as possible know the type of person he is and not to do any business with his company. I am now planning to take him to court for breach of contract since I didn’t get what I ordered and paid for.
