On July 5th 2015 i started my "2005 Chevy Silverado 3500 Duramax" in my home Driveway, the engine started Knocking violently so i turned it right back off, i opened the hood and looked around to see what was going on. i called my Extended warranty Company "Route 66" and told them about the truck knocking violently, they sent a tow truck and than asked where i wanted my truck to be towed to. i sent my truck to the Chevy service Deartment knowing they are only the best. when my truck arrived at the dealer they put it in the service shop and i got a call the next day from the chevy dealer service manager saying my warranty company wants them to find out whats wrong with the engine and they want the engine PULLED. so i said alright, after chevy pulled my engine they discovered that the #7 piston had shattered and the conecting rod had went through the lifter valey in the block.
i was pretty shocked and called my warranty cmpany "Route 66" i asked them what they were planning to do, they said they were sending an adjuster to the dealer to see the engine. that was 6 days ago.
Route 66 warranty company calls me today and says they will not cover anything because i have a "Performance exhaust" on the truck. i was in SHOCK and said what performance exhaust? because i had never put that on my truck. they said i had a after market exhaust that voids the warranty of my "Full drive terrain coverage" and they were NOT covering anything. i think the previous owner put a bigger muffler on for tone and thats what they saw under the truck. so now i am in the wind with a $2,345.00 Labor bill from the chevy dealer for pulling the engine.... my truck is in Pieces... and the Extended warranty that i had paid so much money for has SCREWED me over.
I looked through my Contact Agreement with Route 66 and it doesnt say ANYTHING about exhaust voiding anything. all it says is engine modification voids coverge. I have hired a Insurance Attorney today and looking to take the next step with this warranty company.
This company "Route 66 Extended Warranty" was quick to bail out on me because the cost of the new engine and labor was to much for their greedy asses. The Fight is not over yet.
BEWARE of this warranty company... they are FULL OF **** !!!!
Dodge charged me 113.00 for dio. When i already knew what was wrong.
Called warranty company route 66.
Called me said they were ordering a reman tranny
called 5 days later told me that it needed the filter and fluid changed as it was a used tranny from a wreaking yard.aka((( Parts dealer ))) I said excuse me. She said it is a used tranny not new or remainufactured so needs fluid and new filter as it came off another truck !!!!!! It has a 12 k 1 year warrenty. I about lost it. I paid allot of money for a full plush main street deluxe which covers a tranny. And i got a used tranny from another truck in a junk yard ?????? So awaiting my bank who I bought the truck and warrenty from to contact me. This is fraud.
When you change a tranny you go remanufactured (reman) not a used tranny from a junk yard that cost 1100.00. Expessully if you have a full coverage warrenty ...
I was told if tranny goes bad it's under warrenty now 12 k miles which is one month driving for this SAR unit and we would have to go through this again.
Dodge told me that if it goes bad between the time the tranny warrenty and the end of my warrenty for main street deluxe we have to go through this all over again.. what a rip off. I could have bought a reman for cheep er then this is all costing me.
Way to go supporting our military and SAR group. I'll never buy route 66 warrenty again. God forbid anything else goes wrong I'll get it taken off another used car too.
I purchased a warranty through Route 66 for my pickup truck. When it started having problems and Itook it to the dealer the diagnosis was fuel injector issues. The service rep called Route 66 and let them know and route 66 declined coverage stating they don't deal with fuel delivery problems.
They also say that there is a $3000 total coverage limit. Once I reach that they will cover nothing else what poor service. Do not use this company they afre a HUGE ripp off.
