On March 13, 2014 I went into Rose City Motor talking to a Saleswoman Sarah inquiring about a 2008 Jeep Commander they had listed on their website. She stated the vehicle wasn't in Toledo yet as it was in Lansing being inspected as it was newer inventory. She then told me that she would get the vehicle transported to their lot the same day. Sarah wrote up the paperwork to get me approved for financing. When the vehicle finally got to Toledo I took my wife out to test drive the car. We were told it was in excellent condition other than a few minor flaws that didn't affect the drivability. We decided to go through with the transaction, paid a $1000 deposit, and was able to take the vehicle home. After leaving the lot it was discovered that the right passenger mirror wasn't adjustable by the control and some interior lights on the dash weren't lighting up. The vehicle drove fine for a few days and then warning lights started coming on. The first one was brake / traction related. We took it to Autozone and was told that a Front Speed Sensor needed replaced. We purchased the part and took it somewhere to be replaced. When the gentleman had the vehicle up on the lift it was then realized there was no brake pads left. The next day the check engine light came on warranting ANOTHER and it was engine related. We called the dealer and was instructed we should just take our extended warranty paperwork to a mechanic, shove it in their faces, pay $100 deductible, and they would fix it. We decided to call back and leave a message for our saleswoman. We didn’t receive a call back from her but that evening my wife started receiving texts that I hadn't done my welcome call with the bank and this needed to be done ASAP. I didn't think it was right to do a welcome call with the bank yet as we were still waiting to see what they planned on doing with all the problems with the vehicle. I told the ban k that the vehicle was misrepresented and I wouldn’t complete the welcome call that we didn’t want it. Unprofessional texts started coming through to my wife and they started calling. The vehicle had been misrepresented to us. It was unsafe with the brakes and we didn’t want it at this point. They said that we would forfeit our deposit. The sales lady then started to say well you ""Test Drove"" a vehicle for 11 days and now want to return it. No we didn't test drive it, it was on OUR INSURANCE AND WE WERE BUYING IT. According to their paperwork if we drove over 700 miles we would have to pay .20 / mile or if we had it over 30 days we'd have to pay a daily fee. Neither happened. There was MAYBE 300 miles put on it TOTAL from us and we only had it 11 days. Now they say they will have to talk to the people above them about if they will return my $1000 down payment. I just want my $1000 Down Payment back and to be done with them. We contacted corporate and they said we decided not to go through with the load so we forfeited the deposit. Sales people said bank cancelled the deal because we wouldn't complete ""welcome Call""
I put a down payment on a car and this car had many safety issues. I do not even know where to start. We almost got killed and we had it fix so many times. We decided that we could not put anymore money into this car. The electrical system went out com Safety Issues, inspection how did these cars pass?
