When I bought my house, I continued to use the Oil company the previous owners had used. Not being from the area, that seemed like the safest choice.
I went through thier credit check and signed the contract. I was VERY clear with the salesman that I needed a yearly cleaning and tune up to be included and stressed that this was impotant because I had a problem in the past with a boiler and some sort of back up which endagered my family. He assured me that this was included.
So I called yesterday to schedule my cleaning. I spoke to Stacy. Statcy informed me that they were booked until 1/2/15 and she couldn't make appointments after that. I'm not sure what kind of archaic system they are using that doens't allow them to schedule past that date, but that's what I was told. Stacy then informed me that as my contract expired in Dec, I wouldn't be getting the cleaning that was included in my contract. So basically, I paid for nothing? She informed me that I didn't pay for nothing because they had been out for a no heat and no hot water call. The no heat was because THEY let me run out of oil when I was on auto deliver. The no hot water was a contractors fault, and he would have been the one paying the repair cost if there had been any. Again I point out that I continued the service from the previous owner. Romanelli had a history of the hosue and the oil use. We were not living in the house while it was under construction and the heat was never set higher than 62. There is NO excuse for us running out of oil (although they make several) except that they are inept and poorly run.
Every staff member is RUDE! Nasty and condecending. From Stacy, to Nancy, to Mike the "manager" I spoke with today. Stacy laguhed at me several times, Nancy yelled at my husband and Mike just makes up excuses and acts as if he could care less about talking to you. As business owners, my husband and I asked several times to speak with an owner being as they promote the company as a family run business. Those requests were denied. To quote Mike "He doesn't deal with stuff like this. I run the day to day operation of the company". So there is only1 owner of Romanelli & Sons? And that 1 owner is abentee to the point of not being able to return a call to an upset customer? If any single person I have spoken to this week worked for me, they would be fired.
Consumer be warned. All Romanelli & Sons cares about is getting your money, they DO NOT CARE About their customers and will be nothing but rude once they get your check and contract. Find a more reputable company with little or no cancelation fees. We have to use the company until 12/31 or pay a $595 cancelation fee. The new company I have lined up has no cancelation fee and has been nothing but nice to me.
