I used this company before, and they seemed semi-competent, & showed up almost on time. Then I had a 30'x40' shop built, and made a fatal error. I decided to trust a thief. I had talked to the owner on the phone a few times, and he came across as an, old (70-80) semi retired guy, who had 1 main guy working the rest of his crews. A couple of jobs, the "old man" had dropped the ball, and the main guy, I'll call him Tiny, gave me his cell number and said to just call him so there would be no more mistakes.
When I started plans to have the shop built, I called Tiny and told him I had a big job coming up in 3 or so months, told him what I wanted, and asked for an estimate. He said no problem. When they started building the shop, 2 weeks later, I called Tiny and said the job would be in @ 2 months. Mentioned the estimate again. When they were close to being thru 6 weeks later, firmed a date up, saying I needed him & 2 other guys, for maybe 3 days to get the job done quickly. When they were thru, called Tiny, asked about estimate, told him when I would like them to show up, & every time it was, no problem, we'll be there, & I will get you an estimate. The day shows up, no one shows up.
the next day, the "old guy" calls me, opologises, said he dropped the ball, and would get them out the next day. The next day ONE GUY shows up, works 5.5 hrs, gets almost nothing done. The old man calls me and says he can have a crew there in 3 weeks. I say ok, what about an estimate? The "old man" shows up, and he is @ 50-55, long stringy gray hair, and talks and understands like an old man with alziemers, or a life long druggy. Lost all respect right then and there. I asked what it would cost, maybe $4000-$5000, since I had never gotten an estimate. He said, probably, maybe a little less.
3 weeks later, ONE guy shows up again. Over the course of the next week, one guy works4-5 hours a day, except the day Tiny came out to ditch witch the ditch, didn't follow the very simple placing of the ditch, and cut every line in my sprinkler system.(the old man said this was not his problem, cost me $385 to get it fixed). So, 2 months after they were suppossed to be through, it is finished. The garage door motors were wired wrong, had to get them redone. Some of the plastic fittings were over tightened and broken, but at least they are gone!
then I get the bill. 49.5 hours of labor (I kept actual hours, it was 42) $500 for the ditch witch, and an extra seperate hour charged to run it. 300 miles for travel(it's 22 miles to town) before the job, the old man said they charged 1 way, after I got the bill, he said I never heard that! Also, he said he was out here working one day! Poor, brain dead moron.
Total cost for 8-4' lights, 4 motion sensor lights, 4 light switches, and 12 plug in sockets, and to wire it up, mostly correct
