On the morning of December 4 a little after 8 am. I was merging to the 210 fwy from the 10 fwy. noticed traffic and 3 to 5 cars in front of me and in front of them a Robertson's mix truck. I was hearing a lot of noise kind of like popcorn. moved to the left shoulder, almost passing the san bernardino exit on the 210 fwy when i noticed where all the noise was coming from, at the moment i fell sorry for all the cars behind the Robertson's mix truck, because i noticed all the pebbles flight left to right from the back wheels of Robertson's mix. thinking back never seen so many, I don't recall seen the mud flaps, I only remember seen the tires full of yellow dirt and dust or pebbles flying. unfortunately as i was passing the left side of the truck, i heard a crack on my right side of the window, glanced but didn't see anything, I thought lucky me, but in the next exit i noticed my windshield crack at least 6 inch, since then it has progressed and its all the way to the driver side.
I called the next day to Robertson's mix and left message. and have left many messages since then. at one point i believe during the month of December, my phone calls weren't even getting picked up, I thought they either memorized my number or they are in vacation. of course that was a long vacation. I have moved since then the house where i use to live does not exist. but i never received then a letter to start my claim. I called my insurance then this accident happened, unfortunately i was not covered then, since then i now am covered, unfortunately it doesn't covered this accident. I called Nissan where I always take my car for mechanical issues, and asked for a quote for the windshield, and their price with installation is $375. and its not even the original, original is a bit more than $600. Their Response " after carefully reviewing my claim, they denie liability, it doesnt meet any of their requirements for liability" Really??!! oh " that it should be covered by my ins as an unavoidable road hazard" oh and " Thats our firm and final possition on the matter" ppffft what a bunch !@#$%^
Robertsons Ready Mix Cement truck drops gravel rock on freeway which bounces back and cracks our front windshield. We provided truck number, exact time and exact location of incident but Robertsons refuses to pay instead telling us they assume no liablility
I am sick and tired of trucking companies such as Robertsons dropping material on our roadways and causing damage to my vehicle and numerous others daily on the road.
To add insult to injury Robertsons tries to pawn their responsibility off to the consumer telling me to file a claim with my insurance company of all things.
My eyes dont lie, I saw the gravel drop from back of cement truck and hit my front windshield and to be essentially called a liar is insulting.
Shame on Robertsons Ready Mix shame on them. If this is how they operate their business practicies then to hell with them.
