Contracted shipment of my vehicle from PA to CA one month in advance. Very helpful on the front end and was quoted a price of $1195 and signed the contract.
Two days before scheduled shipment I had received zero notification or confirmation from Road Runner Transport so I called to check on the status of my pickup date. This date was crucial as I was leaving town to travel to CA and would not be returning to PA.
Following several calls with zero action I was placed in touch with a "manager" who told me that they could not ship my vehicle for the contracted price of $1195. This was one day before I was scheduled to leave PA. At this point I was stuck and had to agree upon a price of $1595 so that I could leave as scheduled. I had no time to secure a different carrier.
Upon delivery in CA I was contacted by the driver that my vehicle will be delivered on Tuesday. I took off work to receive my vehicle but the driver didn't show up and would not answer his phone. He finally sent me a text that evening stating that he had trouble with a prior customer and that he would drop off the car the following day. Day 2 comes around and still no delivery. This time I'm told the driver fell and hit his head and can't drive. The driver then misses the third promise date so I finally reach the dispacther to express my extreme frustration. The dispatcher then sends a towing company to pick up my car 50 miles away to deliver to me late in the afternoon on Friday. I took off of work three days due to failed promises. They also tried to convince me to come pick up my car some 50 miles away when the driver couldn't deliver it.
