We hired a approved contractor from Ritz Craft. You as the consumer can not use your own general contractor. You must use one of there vendors. This was just the beginning of the problem. This rep. had a design center in his truck. All samples were in his truck. Many issues were happening and Ritz Craft had nothing to do with it. You do not get to review your home before you pay for it. Your rep will do the review and make sure all is well. Of course it is!!! Nothing could be farther from the truth. We signed our contract in March and our home was delivered in Oct. This was one excuse after another. Finally got here and we had ordered a steel beam in the basement so we could remove 2 support post. NO beam, we ordered a walk in shower. NO the rep though we said we wanted to walk in the shower?? What?? All the concrete work was faulty. Our basement floor is just a complete mess. Our garage floor has a sink hole of 2.5 inches. All the winter weather runs off the car and sit in a 2.5 inch sink hole. I have to park my car over it. I took my car in for a oil change and the guy asked if my car was in a flood? It is rusting the brake rotors and the bottom of the car. Park your car over water and see what happens. The long build time was backing us in a corner. I did not pay the contractor his last draw until he fixed all my issues. O-ALL of our windows develop frost on the inside. Call Ritz and was told go scratch. You have to pay our contractor. For all the faulty work. No way. Long story short,Ritz Craft contractor sued us for the finial draw. Here is where this is weird. The home was built in Michigan,shipped to Illinois and the contractor is from Wisconsin. What a mess. All of the 3 people this contractor had looked like they just got off the railroad yard. Every time I asked for anything to be corrected I was to NO. I can go on and on but in the end. WE have to go to Wisconsin for any court hearing 1.5 hour drive 1 way. Ritz Craft has the nerve to say they never build out home?? Yes they have told out attorney that they are not going to do anything. Now I have to take Ritz Craft to court. As of right now we are $20,000 in attorney fees. I have numerous major problems with our home and have had to spend thousands to fix what is failing. Our foundation leeks,contractor put foam to hold waste pipe in place. Water just runs through the foam. $3,000 just to fix the issue. I have much more to complain about this company and there contractor. PLEASE do not get involved with this company in any fashion. Save your time and money and look else where.
