This company is horrible, could care lest about satisfied consumers and are out to take the consumer financially.
They are currently charging my landlord $49.00 stating I was a "No show" when I was at home. I left my front door wide open, the technician never made any noise or rang the doorbell. Instead he attempted to reach the phone number on file for 2 minutes (not mine, but a phone number given to them previously) and when there was no answer, left and is charging the home owner $49.00. I had rescheduled for the next morning window between 9:00-12:00 and I sat on the couch by the front door the complete time. The "technician" called at 11:45 to say he couldn't make it and informed us about the "no charge" fee for the previous day.
At this point I started to research this company and discovered over 54 complaints on Yelp, 88 complaints with the BBB within the past 3 years, and several complaints on this format. It appears they are very consistent at charging the home visit fee for various reasons without doing repairs. When they do manage to find something to repair, they overcharge or fix unnecessary repairs.
The manager is supposed to call me back within 24 hours, but from what I have read, many consumers have stated that there is no interest shown on their part to provide customer service or satisfaction. In fact, one statement on the BBB is that the same problems have occurred with this company over a significant period of time and that this reflects that they appear to choose to operate in this manner and not make improvements.
Update: manager did call me back within 24 hours. He did not care or own up on the numerous complaints listed at various on-line sources and he expressed complete disregard for my concerns. At first he indicated that there were two "no show charges", one for Wednesday and one for yesterday. I informed him this was incorrect, I sat by the front door the complete waiting period and it was the tech that was a "No show". Manager stated sometimes things happen with the techs and stated I had no reason to complain about the two minute interval given on Monday for me to come to the door as the landlord had already agreed to pay the "no show", it was no cost out of my pocket, and he could not grasp my concern about this unfair charge. He showed complete disregard about the cost of 6 hours of my time spent waiting on their technician or the impact this charge had my relationship with my landlord.
Called Reliable washing machine was slow to drain. Tech informed me it was my drain pump was gone and needed to be replaced at the cost of 365.00. I was floored and asked for a brake down of costs. 150.00 labor and 215.00 cost of part. I researched the part cost and found it for 106.00 . When I called the company back for direction, I was told by a very rude receptionist she knows nothing, and she stands by her servicemen. Also, she would have someone call me.
In need of clean clothes I found washer brochure, punched in for the code on machine and was told it was a blockage or a possible drain pump replacement. But clearly said to first check for blockage. I went on youtube for direction and took my washer apart only to find a huge clog in the tube from the wash bin. Very easy job. I did have trouble replacing the clamps and paid a co-worker 60.
.00 to replace. My drain pump also could clearly be heard running. so I new right away it was not gone.
After 3 calls I still never recieved a call, However was directed to e-mail a Peter York. At this point I only wanted my 49.99 dollars returned to me. He requested I send him copy of company I used for repair. When I told him I did it myself he completely blew me off. I have pictures of clog and how easy it is to repair minus a few bruises. I also keep the junk I pulled out.
I feel his tech was completely deceptive or uneducated in over charging me over by110.00. His office personal were very rude and of no help at all. I feel he did not do me any service and should have returned my service call cost.
