I rented 2 dvds from Redbox on 11/03/14 returned both of them the next day. I was sent a confirmation email saying they received both of my rentals and my final total was $1.20 a piece for the 1-day rental. This morning 11/25/14 I received another email saying final receipt for the same 2 movies, only this time they are charging me $1.20 for one movie and $25.20 for the other one saying they never received it.
Total was around $28.00 and automatically taken off my cc. I rent from Redbox every week at least 1 if not 2 movies a day. I called the customer service dept. just to find out that I did in fact return both movies but 48 hrs later it was rented out by another person and they never returned it. Since it was apparently too soon to be recognized as returned by redbox they added it to the last transaction (my acct) and charged me for the next persons charge.
I will never again rent a single Redbox movie and now I have to wait 5-7 business days for their mistake to be taken care of, with nothing done about it but a return and still charged me for the 1 day use. No free movie credit or nothing done about it. They acted like its whatever and doesnt really matter it was just merely a mistake. I advise anybody renting a movie to be careful because obviously they hold your card information on there even if your not swiping they can still use it.
On July 26 2014 I used a coupon code 3W56VH7K which expires by 07/27/14 at 11:59 p.m. CT.* (tonight)
I reserved the DVDs and paid for the rentals online. I recall that I was being charged for 1 rental and 6% tax, amounting to $1.27 which I put on my American Express card. We went to the pick up location and the machine listed both movies and said only one movie rental would be charged.
Today the husband when to return them and I got an email saying that my card had been charged $2.01! (see below)
