My name is Elijah Norton and I am the CEO of RED Auto Protection. As it's CEO and founder, customer service is my highest priority, bar none. While I monitor our customer service daily and our staff is very customer-focused, if there is ever a time any customer is dissatisfied, I encourage them and ask them to immediately let me know they are having a problem, and I will help them. Even though RED Auto Protection is one of the largest sellers of Vehicle Service Contracts in the United States--employing directly and indirectly over 50 employees, we got that way by taking care of our customers. If there is any way I can be of assistance to a customer where one of my staff members was not, please e-mail me at [email protected], and I will personally assist any customer. My company and staff look forward to the opportunity to provide excellent products and service to new and existing customers.
About a year ago to the day I purchased a policy from Red Auto Protection, I was hesitant and must say the sales women was convincing, I forget her name. I actually called in 3 months after the purchase to cancel, I felt as if the policy purchased did not provide the coverage I needed or expected. After speaking with customer service they advised me it was the best possible coverage for my vehicle and I had already exceeded the mileage for that policy and would not be able to purchase that specific policy if I canceled today. They could provide a policy for me, but the coverage would be less than I already had, I kept the policy but did some research of my own, they were correct no one could provide me with better coverage than I had and the policies offered by other companies covered less. I decided not to cancel and as luck would have it today, I am picking up my car fromn the dealership, paying nothing more than $100 deductible on just over $4,600 on repairs to my vehicle!! TODAY I WIN!! Thanks Elijah for providing this single mom with coverage I can count on!
The above complaint, like the other "rounds" of complaints was all posted on November 14th-15th, 2014. We terminated a management-level employee around this time (the event occurred on November 14th, 2014). It would appear that the string of negative reviews is a response to that employees termination.
If you are truly a customer, please contact me so I can see what we did wrong to make you frustrated enough to post a review on this site, numerous times. I will be happy to compensate you for your time in the form of a gift card or other compensation. If something truly frustrated you, I want to know how I may be able to fix it.
As I have put in previous posts, RED Auto Protection cares about customer service. Any customer who has a negative experience should tell me, by calling me directly at (913) 815-8610 ext 1001 or via e-mail at [email protected].
If we did not care about customer service, I would not give customers my contact information. Furthermore, the other reviews on this site were posted by customers (other than the one by me, which I sign) that we encouraged to post on this site after having a positive experience.
One important fact to remember, is scamorg is not necessarily a reliable web site. It is an anonymous blog that is actually a Russian-owned company. Ripoff report and the Better Business Bureau are reliable sites, because they require customers to put in their actual information to verify that they are indeed customers. Complaints on those sites are reliable. As customers can see, the only site that has any negative reviews regarding RED Auto Protection is scamorg, because they do not require verification.
This means anyone--including ex-employees (we have over 50 employees) can go online to try to damage our reputation.
We maintain an "A-" rating with the BBB and have only had 6 complaints (which have been resolved) and have been verified by Rip Off Report.com
As you can see, the negative complaints were all posted within 2 days of each-other. Both "rounds" of negative reviews were as well. Furthermore, they were non-productive, as they did not accurately describe the customer experience.
I bought a policy with them about 8 months ago. Last week, I called the insurance co RED places me with, EFG to file a claim.
Initially, my claim was denied. I then called RED to cancel. To my surprise, they told me they would investigate why my claim was denied and try to get it revisited.
Nate, a manager there called my repair shop. After he investigated it was found that the repair shop was trying to defraud me by overcharging me for work that didnt need to be done.
Nate called around and found a better repair shop and my car was fixed and they paid the claim!
Never before has a company treated me so well or gone out of their way to help me like they did. They truly care about service!

I bought a policy with RED Auto Protection and their underwriter American Guardian on my vehicle right as it came out of manufacturer warranty. The company is ran well, and their customer service staff seemed very professional and helpful. Would recommend to anyone.
Bought a warranty from a lady over the phone and when I reviewed the booklet it was not the same coverage we agreed to. My husband had me call in to cancel and it was such a hassle. We were told it was going to be no questions asked, and it was easy to get a refund. They passed me person to person and repeated the same questions to get me to hang up and stay. After 30 min of this we were cancelled. I had to call back twice to get my refund.
This entire string of complaints (complaints posted on October 20th through October 22nd and November 14th through 15th) corresponds with two different rounds of employee terminations, that RED Auto Protection elected to make to ensure that customers were being treated in the best possible fashion.
To me, it appears that these reviews are from an employee, not a customer. As I said in the previous post, I would be happy to investigate your complaint if you contact me directly at [email protected] or (913) 815-8610 ext 1001. I would even be happy to compensate you for your time. We rarely get complaints, and when we do see a complaint from a customer who is unsatisfied with the way we conduct business, I would love to hear about it so I can look into it myself and refine any operating processes we have so we may better improve our service and prevent complaints.
To this date, despite posting my personal contact information, these continued responses to the "two" rounds of negative reviews, no customers have contacted me, which to me indicates these posts are not by customers, but rather ex-employees. If our company was a scam, I would not be taking the time or energy to go online and ask customers who may have an issue to contact me. In fact, very few companies do this.
Furthermore, the original complainants have not responded to my responses. For any prospective customer or current customer, I would advise them to use reliable web sites when deciding to do business with a company or not.
To address the allegation that we posted the "positive reviews" on this site is also false. We have a program where customers who have a positive experience are compensated for going online and posting positive reviews on our business, and in these cases those customers have elected to do it.
Web sites such as scamorg (which are not even American owned web sites, this one in particular is a foreign site) are anynomous blogs that do not require accountability. This means ex-employees or even competitors can go online and post anything they want about a business in an attempt to ruin the company's reputation. Sites such as Rip Off Report and the Better Business Bureau require customers with complaints to input their information, and then hold businesses such as RED Auto Protection accountable for responding to those complaints in an expedient fashion.
Sites such as scamorg do not, and thus are not reliable. Furthermore, they allow one person to post multiple complaints, so it is very likely that the complaints found here are from the same person (who is likely not a customer) numerous times.
I would advise people wishing to check out the reliability of our business, or any business, to use reliable web sites such as the Better Business Bureau and Ripoffreport.com. On both sites, we have excellent ratings. If a customer does truly have an issue with RED Auto Protection, I ask that they contact me directly and I will be happy to investigate and provide a fair and timely resolution to their issue.

We do not scam anyone out of any money whatsoever, especially those who are elderly customers. In fact, we are one of the only companies that has a dementia and "elderly" policy to where we will issue any elderly person who purchases a policy from us without knowledge of what they are buying a full refund.
If you are a customer, or a relative of a customer that has had an unusual negative experience, I encourage you to please contact me at [email protected] or call me at (877) 580-7750 ext 1001 and I will be glad to look into whatever issue you are having with my company and do everything I can to fairly resolve your issue.

I was contacted by Red Protection Auto regarding a car I no longer own through some marketing material that was outdated. I explained that I no longer own that particular vehicle, but we had another vehicle that needed coverage. I was transferred to another agent in Orange Co. CA. I shared with him that I don't own the vehicle any longer, but would like coverage for my husband's vehicle. We went through the entire process and paid the down payment. When the cards arrived, as promised, I compared VIN numbers and found that the policy was written for the very vehicle that I said was no longer in our possession. Not to mention that they had the wrong name, and our old address. Apparently, the Orange County representative, who I liked very much, just added a bill to address. Honest mistake?! Easy remedy, right??! WRONG! I called and spoke with customer service, they connected me to another sales representative who quickly changed the information. Apparently, he was too quick, but a week passed and no email or cards. I called to to verify cash he's and status of cards, there was no changes even though they reconnected me to the second sales rep a gain. At which time my husband informed them to cancel the service. He continued to try to keep us, but my husband emphatically requested a refund, the sales rep promised to cancel the service and refund the full payment in 7-14 days. He promised to send an email confirmation. When we didn't get the email, we contested the charge with the bank. Today, we did receive an email from Red Auto and it was a Notice of Acceptance. I attempted to call them but their office was closed on Saturday. I've been posted a message on their Facebook to make sure that they understood that we did not want their services anymore due to the chaos. After the post my mom informed me that the mail came to her home in GA. We live in CA. Perhaps we caught them in rate form. I can give them the benefit of the doubt; however, if writing the policy is this bad, why would we stay?
This entry was a BBB complaint that was filed against RED Auto Protection by a customer several months ago. It appears whoever has been posting these negative reviews has copied the content from the Kansas City BBB's web site and made this post.
This customer's policy was cancelled and the customer was fully refunded months ago. The customer cancelled within their first 30 days, and thus was issued a refund. The customer was sent an e-mail confirmation, however the e-mail went into the spam box of this customer and they did not get it.
Regardless, this complaint was immediately responded to and is now long resolved. I would advise customers to go to this site: http://www.bbb.org/kansas-city/Business-Reviews/auto-warranty-plans/red-auto-protection-inc-in-overland-park-ks-99158423 and check out our BBB profiles and reviews.
My name is Ziniada D*. Customer # ISOAR108** Contract # 101045** I'd like to tell you about a recent
experience I had with your company. I first bought my car warranty on October 4,2012. I haven't had to use your
service until September 4, of this year. My car wouldn't start. I called your company and was towed to Nissan service Department. Since then, my problem started. After Nissan checked my car, I was told I needed a new starter, which would've cost $690.00. A few days later, I was told I needed a new computer, which would've cost $2690.00! I NEVER would have been able to come up with! I called Red Auto Protection, in need of my warranty. When I called, I spoke with customer service rep. Mr.TRAVIS HOMAN. Since then, it took 10 days of so much Trouble! I was so upset, I was hysterical crying, with major anxiety..I thought I was going to have a heart attack! Mr.Homan took such good care of me..like I was his child! I felt like I was in GOD'S Hands! I am a 70 yr. old Russian woman, and with my broken English he calmed me down. And because of Mr.Homan, I survived my ordeal! He saved me $2400.00!!! He saved me, he saved my life, he saved my car!! If not for Mr.Homan, I would've lost my car, because I NEVER would've been able to get the quoted amount to get my car back! Any time, Anywhere, I've Ever spoken with customer service, NO ONE has EVER been so caring and supportive! Mr.TRAVIS HOMAN was my Angel! The reason for this Email, is to bring this matter to your attention. If Every customer service representative was as kind and committed to their important position, within their company..those of us in need of their service, would smile instead of dreading having to make that call! I feel, and hope Mr.Homan receives the positive recognition he so well deserves, for his Help and Amazing Kindness towards me. Mr. Travis Homan is a True Asset to Red Auto Protection! And I will happily Recommend your company to Anyone I come across, who is in need of a Car Warranty. Thank you Very much for your time.
This review was posted by a customer. The name of the customer is actually in the review itself.
If you contact us on Monday to cancel, and you are within your 30 day right to review period, there should not be any issue with you cancelling your policy. If you do have an issue, please feel encourage to contact me directly at (877) 580-7750 ext 1001 or e-mailing me at [email protected]
I did not say that these reviews were posted by employees or ex-employees, however the speed, number, and time frame in which they were posted corresponds to the termination of an employee who is aware that we care about our online reputation.
We have contacted the author of this web site, who will be turning over the IP information of the reviews that were posted, and that will accurately tell us if the reviews were posted by employees or customers. If we trace the IP to an employee, we will be taking legal action against the employee for defamation. If they were posted by customers, obviously they have the right to complain.
I would advise you to re-look at the BBB profile. We have had two complaints posted in the last year, which is good I would say given the volume of business we generate (over 7,000 policies per year). They were also resolved, which means that the customer was happy with our resolution.
Please contact me if you need any assistance (913) 815-8610 ext 1001 or [email protected].
I'm confused. You say all the bad reviews are from employees? Can I ask mr Norton did you post this review to this site?
I just got a policy with red auto protection on the 14th and after looking at the reviews I'm not sure I should keep it. I went to the BBB and you have gotten two complaints recently it looks like I was able to read one of them and it seems to confirm what others are saying on this website. Please tell me It will not be a propblem to cancel my policy on Monday since to you are not open on the weekends.
This company is a scam and I will be writing a bad review on every complant board I can find to worn people of the scam. Red auto protection will steal your hard earned money. I called my administrative company directly and they said they no longer work with red auto protection because they were scamming people.
If they call run far far away. I called to cancel my coverage and got harassed by two differnt people. It took over 30 minutes to cancel my warranty with them. Do not do business with this company.
I experienced the same thing after I called in to cancel. I tried to reach my sales person, Jesse. They said she was not in and I could not talk to her. A gentleman kept me on the phone refusing to cancel my policy and refund my money. He placed another person on the phone that discounted my policy $1,000. Why did I not get that price in the beginning? They only cancelled me when I said I would report them to the BBB. Extremely dissatisfied.
I find it ironic that these reviews were posted within 24 hours of eachother.
They appear to be from a terminated employee (who was terminated on November 14th, 2014). This complaint itself is dubious as it says an administrator advised that we were a scam. If we were a scam, one of our business partners (an administrator) would not do business with us in the first place.
Again, we advise customers or potential customers to use a reliable web site, such as the Better Business Bureau or Rip off report.com when looking up customer reviews.
Web sites such as scamorg are very easy for anyone, including terminated employees to go online and post a negative review.
If a customer has an issue with RED Auto Protection, as I have stated before, I would advise them to contact me directly at [email protected] or (913) 815-8610 ext 1001. I have worked very hard to build a company with a reputation of honesty and integrity. I am happy to listen and resolve any issues a customer might have with our sales or customer service team directly.
Don't buy into this scam, or the fake reviews by the employees. It is pathetic, this company buys your information off of websites and looks up you dmv record to find out what kind of car you drive. They scam you out of money. And prey on elderly people. This pathetic excuse for a company should be shut down.
Clarification
Dear Sir or Mamme,
I do not know your name since you did not list it here, but I did see your posting that these reviews are "fake". These reviews were not fake, and I nor my employees did not post them. To clarify, RED Auto Protection does not purchase consumer information off of websites or the DMV (which is a violation of the Driver Protection Act passed by congress in the 90's). We do purchase service data from various companies to market to our consumers, as all business do (including local restaurants and other businesses). We do not scam anyone out of money.
If you have had an issue with my company, please contact me directly at (877) 580-7750 ext 1001 or e-mail me at [email protected]. I would love to hear your complaints and see what I can do to personally help you resolve whatever issue you may have as well as help refine any process or deal with any employee that caused you frustration.
Since you did not leave a name or a story, however, it is possible you might be an angry employee or a competitor trying to tarnish our reputation. If you are a customer, please let me know what I can do to help you resolve whatever issues you are having. I can assure you we are a legitimate company and care about all customers.

Only because I couldnt give it zero stars. They suck and great employees like crap. Look up the men who run their offices and you'll see they are nothing but ex convicts trying to "help" there way into our wallets.

I may be reached at [email protected] or (913) 815-8610 ext 1001.

Customer Satisfaction is Our Number One Priority
We do not scam anyone out of any money whatsoever, especially those who are elderly customers. In fact, we are one of the only companies that has a dementia and "elderly" policy to where we will issue any elderly person who purchases a policy from us without knowledge of what they are buying a full refund.
If you are a customer, or a relative of a customer that has had an unusual negative experience, I encourage you to please contact me at [email protected] or call me at (877) 580-7750 ext 1001 and I will be glad to look into whatever issue you are having with my company and do everything I can to fairly resolve your issue.

horrible company
You are a pathetic excuse of a business owner. What gives you the right to scam thousands of dollars out of elderly people?
Horrible

Attention:Mr. E.Norton

Who posted this
I'm confused.
Scam
This company is a scam and I will be writing a bad review on every complant board I can find to worn people of the scam. Red auto protection will steal your hard earned money. I called my administrative company directly and they said they no longer work with red auto protection because they were scamming people.
If they call run far far away. I called to cancel my coverage and got harassed by two differnt people. It took over 30 minutes to cancel my warranty with them. Do not do business with this company.
Re:Scam
I experienced the same thing after I called in to cancel. I tried to reach my sales person, Jesse. They said she was not in and I could not talk to her. A gentleman kept me on the phone refusing to cancel my policy and refund my money. He placed another person on the phone that discounted my policy $1,000. Why did I not get that price in the beginning? They only cancelled me when I said I would report them to the BBB. Extremely dissatisfied.
Response
These reviews are fake
Don't buy into this scam, or the fake reviews by the employees. It is pathetic, this company buys your information off of websites and looks up you dmv record to find out what kind of car you drive. They scam you out of money. And prey on elderly people. This pathetic excuse for a company should be shut down.

Red Auto is a Joke
Only because I couldnt give it zero stars. They suck and great employees like crap. Look up the men who run their offices and you'll see they are nothing but ex convicts trying to "help" there way into our wallets.
