Contracted with RecordMyCalls for a automatic monthly charge to our credit card. They stopped providing their service last spring. Their phone number has been disconnected and certified mail sent to their address is retuned undeliverable. They continue to charge our credit card but there is no way to contact them to cancel and stop the chaarges.
On May 16th, 2014, I signed up for telephone recording services through recordmycalls.com. I am a telephone mystery shopper, and it is very important that I am able to record my calls in order to write a thorough and complete customer service report.
My understanding was that the recording service would be $11.95 per month for unlimited recordings. However, when I logged into my online bank account, I noticed that not only was $11.95 pending but also $25.
I immediately emailed recordmycalls.com and explained that I misunderstood the fees involved. I asked the company to please reverse both charges since they were still pending and that I was no longer interested in their telephone recording services. I explicitly requested that recordmycalls.com close my account and cancel my service effective immediately while the two payments were still pending.
Even though the company did not respond to my emails, it did reverse the $25 fee but not the $11.95 fee.
A month later, on June 15th, 2014, recordmycalls.com withdrew another $11.95 from my bank account after I notified them that I was no longer interested in their services. I sent the company several more emails while this second $11.95 payment was still pending. Once again, recordmycalls.com did not respond to my emails. The payment posted the next day.
I have requested that my bank investigate the matter by contacting recordmycalls.com on my behalf, but if recordmycalls.com has not responded to my emails I don't think the company will communicate with my bank.
Now I need to request a new debit card simply because recordmycalls.com refuses to cease taking money from my account each month.
