Realestatebacklinks.com is the first website to pop up for the keywords... real estate backlinks. I run a real estate based website so I clicked on the site. There was a lot of info on the type of service they provide and it sounded exactly like what I was looking for.
I scrolled to the bottom of the page and chose the cheapest monthly and ongoing (no other option) and paid with my PayPal account. That is probably what saved me from losing $79.
During the checkout process I was expecting to see an area where I needed to enter my url and email address. How else would they confirm payment and begin the job... right? Well, there was no area to enter this info. I should have stopped there.
However, I continued and paid with my PayPal account. I was expecting some sort of response from them but nothing happened. After 2 days of repeatedly sending them email from their contact form I felt I had to file a dispute with PayPal. That was the only contact I had with them. It's the only way I was able to get direct contact info from them which was the email address. [email protected]
I copied and pasted the PayPal dispute comments below....
As you can see they say they sent me an email asking for the url (which they didn't) and then immediately refunded (look at the time) the money. Save yourself the headache. Unfortunately, the sales pitch is set up pretty well on their site. I'm trying to stop anyone else from losing their money. Thank you Rip Off Report for creating this outlet!
9/19/2014 20:39 EDT - PayPal: A Refund was issued.
9/19/2014 20:38 EDT - Seller: Hit there, We sent out an email message to ask for your 3 keyword phrases as well as your URL. Would you like to continue the service or cancel?
9/19/2014 19:28 EDT - Buyer: The seller is realestatebacklinks.com. I paid for a subscription to their online backlinking service. It's a monthly service where they build back links to your site. However, there was no area that popped up asking for the url of the site or for the keywords so they have no info to start the work. I have sent repeated emails and have had NO contact from them whatsoever. It's been a couple days since I put the order in. This is unusual for this kind of service. Usually there is a confirmation link or email. I believe this may be a scam site that sits there collecting money for the owner of the site. I wanted to put this dispute in before canceling the subscription just in case it's real.
