I ordered three custom cabinet/pantry doors on February 13, 2015 from Randy Howse (DBA "RHC Doors). Orginally, I spoke with "Marilyn" who took my order for $331 and told me to expect the doors in two to three weeks. After the expected delivery time had passed, I contacted the company and was told the shipment had been held up in customs.
While I didn't entirely understand this explanation, RHC Doors is in Canada, so I waited for another week or two. When I contacted them again, they said they would put the doors into immediate production and reship. "Okay," I said, and waited. Weeks passed and when I tried to contact them to see about my order, they were no longer answering their phone or responding to my emails. I believe they were purposefully avoiding my calls/emails.
After I submitted a charge dispute with my bank and a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, I did a little more research on RHC Doors. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who had this problem. There was even a website with a long list of disgruntled customers who had a similar experience as me.
I would have been frustrated if RHC Doors had failed to deliver the doors, but would have assumed they were simply incompetent. However, not refunding money for unfulfilled orders is unethetcial and fraudulent. Since this a long pattern of behavior for Randy Howse, I woud advise anyone to steer clear of this business. Hopefully, someone in Canada will investigate them and determine if they are engaging in criminal activity.
