This company sold my personal information with a false automobile quote to several companies. I was innundated by emails and phone calls for a service i didn't request or even need, or had even looked on the internet for.
The companies all told me they had gotten the leads from Quote wizard, and that the leads were faulty on several occasions.
I have received seven offers for car insurance quotes in the last two days, four online, three via phone calls. I never requested a quote. They all offered quotes for a make and model I don't own and have never owned. The last time I got a call from a local State Farm agency, I demanded to know who gave them this information, and they told me they were forwarded a lead from a company called Quote Wizard. They had no information about the company, but they told me to look it up online.
Quote Wizard apparently makes their money by selling phony leads. I guess it allows the insurers to bypass the "Do Not Call" list because they think they're responding to quote requests.
If you are insurance agent, please know all of these leads are scams and not requested or authorized by the alleged customer.
If you receive a call regarding a quote you never requested, definitely ask if the lead came from Quote Wizard. The government needs to shut down this ongoing scam and charge the operators with fraud.
