Dealer misrepresented the condition of the vehicle. Dealer refuses to stand behind the vehicle. Dealer will not try to resolve the issues. Quinn Motors sold us a vehicle that they stated was in "very good condition, mechanically runs and drives great".
Before even going to look at the vehicle I asked the salesman if all the services and repairs that are required by the manufacture had been done, he stated they had. When I look at the vehicle in person the salesman again stated all the services and repairs had been done.
I was told that a NEW alternator had been installed as well. The tire sensor icon was on in the dash. The salesman told us that the batteries had been replaced in the wheel sensors and they just needed to get them programed which they would take care of.
We purchased the vehicle in February 2015. We took the vehicle home with the understanding that we needed to bring it back to get the wheel sensors programed. It is a 3.5 hour trip for us to go to Quinn Motors, so we asked the salesman how much it was going to cost to get the wheel sensors programmed. We were told it would cost $100.00, so we told them that we would take care of getting it done to save us from making the long trip.
We took the vehicle to the VW dealer near us to get the sensors done. The VW dealer told us that all the sensors in the wheels were dead and not communicating with the vehicle. The VW dealer also stated that you cannot replace the batteries in the sensors, you need to replace($915.00)the sensors. We were then told that a vacuum line on the engine was being held together with electrical tape and needed to be replaced($136.00). They also stated that the cat converters needed to be replaced($2350.00) as they were showing as bad in the computer. The rear prop shaft was bad and needed to be replaced($1415.00) We paid the VW dealer $143.00 to find out that the sensors were bad.
We then had to fight with Quinn motors to replace the sensors. They attempted to have us pay for it. Quinn Motors did purchase the bad vacuum line. They attempted to replace the wheel sensors with after market sensors at a repair shop near them. After that failed I told them that I would try to find a shop near us that could do it. The shop I found said that they might be able to do for $440.00 but couldn't guarantee it. They suggested we take it to the VW dealer. I contacted Quinn Motors and told them this. They then offered to send us a check for $220.00. I told them that they needed to pay for the whole things as they had agreed to, the salesman then hung up on us.
Quinn Motors has not communicated with us sense then. Since then the vehicle as continued to have problems. The AC pump failed, the front sturts had to be replaced, the stereo amplifier failed, the motor that controls the door for the AC failed, the transmission failed, the front differential failed, both fuel pumped failed and we had to have the car towed. This is only the portion of the items we have repaired. The "new" alternator that Quinn motors installed is from a junk yard. According to VW none of the required services had been done from what they could tell.
All this has happened in less than 3 months and less than a 1000 miles. Does this sound like a vehicle that is in "very good condition, mechanically runs and drives great" Quinn Motors told us that the owner of Quinn Motors loved this vehicle and drove it for 2 years before selling it to us.
