Quick Auto Inc Reviews

I purchased a 2005 Kia Sedona from the Quick Auto located in Michigan City. About 6 months after purchasing the vehicle, it wouldn't start. I contacted the warranty repair office at 877-594-5288 and spoke with Susan and she told me I needed to take it to Dave's Service and Repair Shop in Michigan City for a diagnosis. After about 2 days, The technician at Dave's shop contacts me to tell me the starter needed to be replaced before they could completely diagnosis the probelm because the van would not start. Quick Auto Warranty approved the install of the starter and the technician was able to completely diagnose the problem. I was told that the timing chain came off of the engine and damaged the valves so the engine would need to be replaced. When I contacted the warranty company (I spoke with Heather) to inquire about the replacement engine, I was told that the repair was covered by the warranty and the replacement engine that they would be sending had 121,000 miles on it. I asked why the engine had so many miles if it was a warranty repair and I was told by Heather that they had to use an engine that had close to the same amount of miles as the one previously installed in the van.

I contacted Dave's shop to see if they inspected the engine before they put it in and the technician told me his only job was to install the engine the warranty company sent him and get the vehicle running. At this point, I contact the warranty company to complain that the engine Dave's shop would be installing could be just as bad as the one they're replacing. Heather acted like she didn't understand why I was complaining. Her exact response to me was "You should be thanking me because we didn't have to cover this repair since the damage was caused by the timing chain". I was in complete disbelief when she said that to me.

Today, 12/18/2014, I received a call from the technician installing the engine. He informed me that there was some leakage around the head gasket and the timing chain looked worn and needed to be replaced. I asked him had he contacted the warranty company to inform them about the condition of the engine. He told me he had not contacted them so I called and left a detailed message for Heather to call me back. When I spoke with her, she stated that the technician was just suggesting some maintenance that needed to be done and there was nothing wrong with the engine. In the same breath, she said that since there was leakage around the gaskets, the warranty company would agree to repair that issue. I explained to her that when I spoke with the tech, he was not making maintenance suggestions. Then I pointed out that if it was just a preventive maintenance suggestion, why were they going to repair the leaking head gaskets. A this point, she was pissed, so I calmly explained to her that I filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General because they were replacing a bad engine with another bad engine. She told me she would wait for the complaint and hung up the phone.

Please beware of the cars sold by Quick Auto. Instead of replacing the parts on your car with new or newer used parts, they replace them with whatever is cheaper. I have been without my car for more than a week but they still expect for me to make the payment even though they won't reimburse me for having to rent a car. That's not covered by the warranty, but if it was, I bet they would use better parts.

Quick Auto Warranty, Quick Auto Sales and HAC Financing try to act like they don't have anything to do with each other, but if you miss a payment, they won't honor the warranty on your vehicle until the payment is made. They are all connected. Don't be fooled by these guys. Stay away.
