I ordered an engine for my car from quality used engines, or whatever other names they used, for $1250. I received it as planned, i had tuffy auto repair installed it and replaced all necessary parts as recommended by the warraty policy. This costs me over $1300. After installation, the. Mechanic called me and told me the engine would not work due to a blown head gasket. Now lets be clear: The vehicle never left the shop. I called Q.U.E. and told them about it. They told me they do not cover head gasket, so they will not pay for it to be fixed but they can send another engine but they will not cover reinstallation. So i tried to explain to them when a customer buys an engine, he/she expects a working engine not one with a blown head gasket, and it's their resposibility to make sure all tests are done before the engine leaves and if they fail to do that so whatever time and money the customer spends in vain is on them. They told the head gasket is not technically a part of the engine. Lets be clear, nowhere on their policy its said: "IF ENGINE DOES NOT WORK, WE CAN REPLACE IT BUT WE WILL NOT COVER THE FEE YOU SPENT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF BAD ENGINE WE SOLD YOU". Nowhere it said: "HEAD GASKET OF OUR ENGINE MIGHT BE BLOWN, ITS NOT OUR RESPONSIBILTY". I dont thats fair because someone should know what they are getting theirselves into! So i asked em what if the nxt engine they send doesn't work, they said thats not supposed to happen but if it doesnt work, its over because they can only give me one exchange!! What??? So i asked them to refund me my money at least. They said there is 25% for restocking fee! Am i dreaming? Is that real life? Restocking what? Restocking a junk they shouldnt have had in stock to begin with. So basically i lost money and time to install the junk they sent me but they want a quarter of my money to just take it back!
Look people, in what world are we living? Just because someone has a policy doesnt make what they doing fair. If its not fair, its not just; therefore it shouldnt be legal. Evil is not born but created, lets not wait until they pissed off the unstable motherf# that will gun dwn everybody, lets prevent that from happening before we have an ugly situation in our history again!
I purchased a "supposedly" inspected, compression tested engine, free of engine knocks and defects from this place for a Mitsubishi montero. What I received was a motor with low compression in two cylinders. I was was a bit upset but figured they would make it right with their "3 year, 36,000 mile warranty" that includes part and labor. I talk this Scott character and explain the issue. I asked him why I received an engine with low compression if it had been compression tested prior to shipping (that was their excuse for shipping at the speed of smell), and he cannot answer my question and simply states he doesn't know how that happened. Scott had arranged for a defect free engine to shipped to replace the first one and when I asked how he wanted to handle the return of the first defective motor he told me to scrap it as it is not worth shipping. This is the first indicator of them knowingly sending garbage.
About two weeks later the replacement motor makes it my shop. My shop tries to establish communication with this company for the warranty labor claim and never get through to anyone other than Scott. Scott tells them and myself that some mythical "Bill" is the only one who handles warranties. The problem is you can't talk to him. Whenever you can get through to a human- which is rarely, they talk you in non productive elusive circles making up reasons why they won't cover the warranty labor cost and hang up.
Besides the issue with them not covering the labor costs- which are clearly covered in the contents of their warranty, the replacement motor I received was defective as well. It had no compression in cylinder 1- Completely dead cylinder. I contacted them again after wasting an afternoon trying to get someone to answer. I had to resort to blocking my phone number just to get through to talk to this Scott clown, who again talks in elusive circles telling me this issue is not covered because of any and every reason he can think of... I told him he needs to call my shop and speak with the mechanic, because this is the second defective, paper weight of an engine they have sent me. I further explained to him that my shop has made countless attempt to get through to just be put on eternal hold or leave a message that never gets returned.
5 minutes later I receive this email from"Dale" with his piss poor excuse of customer service:
I tried calling your shop and they had put me on hold for 10 minutes. I myself had 30 people holding for me so unfortunately I could no longer wait for them.
I replied:
Dale,
The below statement is not true as I contacted Walt at Akins and Bob after I received this email. I got through immediately and they had not received any call from a "Quality Used Engines" representative. My shop has submitted the warranty labor claim twice already and has just completed a third fax transmission.
At this point I have zero faith that this company will do the right thing as they have clearly demonstrated how they will not honor their own warranty and play f**k f**k games hoping you will give up.
This Low Quality Used Engine company is a complete ripoff! I have initiated a chargeback with my bank and I have all documented evidence to prove they are in the wrong. This will take a long time to solve and I have lost much money in installation, rental cars, as well as patience and tolerance for a**h***s. I regret not looking into their history prior to purchasing as it is bad. They have track record of piss poor business practices. These folks are criminals and should be treated as such. The owner Al Talyanksy should be banned from ever operating any business as well as him and his cronies put in prison. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
