Same story here, except it was a local merchant survey offering a free watch for filling out their survey. The charge showed up as "pending" today (9/01/*2015). Unfortunately, that rewards shipping and handling charge for $5.99 meant I'm a member of ...??? There is no description, no phone number and no recourse. I will dispute the charge until the end of time but there is no legal recourse as fraud. Evidently, this scammer in Afghanistan knows our laws well enough the skate the very edge between legal and illegal. ...sigh... I should know better!
Do not do any survey on Amazon or anywhere else for free gifts. Most scam you into some type of membership, they do not direct you to any terms and conditions. This particular company scams you into paying $5.99 to ship you a supposed free watch but actually its a trial membership into a watch of the month club. If you do not cancel and return the watch they send you within 14 days they bill you $95.00 and then $49.00 each month for the watches they send you. There is no documentation with the watch you get and no way to know about the 14 day return / cancel policy until you get billed the $95.00.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SCAM COMPANY!!!!!!!
I also very upset with Amazon for allowing this kind of scam survey activity on their site...and will now seriously consider shopping elsewhere.
