Responded to a Facebook ad for a trial shipment of two products: Pure Green Coffee and Pure Garcinia Cambogia. I understood that I would pay s/h and would receive a 30 day supply of these two products. There was no mention of the actual cost of the product.
Silly me, I assumed that with a 30 day supply, i could cancel, if desired, after a 30 day period to halt any auto shipments. Therre was no mention of auto shipments on the ad, either.
On May 11, 2015, my account was debited 2.95 and 3.95 for s/h. Then on May 26, i was charged $88 and $89. There had been no confirmation email, or any information detailing the order at all.
Tried to call the phone number listed with the charge on my bank statement. First time, I was told the connection was too bad to continue and I should call back later. On calling back at a later time, I was able to cancel my account, but couldn't talk to a human to find out what the deal was.
Called today, and waited patiently while we went through the same song and dance - the connection wasn't good, I'd have to call back. I called back immediately and was able to connect with a human. Was told that all the information was available on the website, but wasn't able to find said website. Went to the distributor's website, but couldn't find this product.
However, I did look at a trial offer for a different product, and found out that one has to click through to the terms and conditions to find out that you get 10 days to decide, and then, if you don't cancel in time, you are charged the exorbitant price for the product you already have.
They operate just on the edge of the law. I would imagine they get $180 out of lots of people who assume that it's a reputable company that sends confirmation emails and makes the terms known up front.
