They charge almost double to supply your power. DO NOT switch to this company, they hope you don't look at your bills in detail which is my case. I did not know this until they were required to send customers their Supplier Quarterly Nofitifcation recently. They have charged us much higher generation rate for so many years!!!
They charge almost double to supply your power then most other companies inlcluding JCP&L. DO NOT switch to this company, they hope you don't look at your bills in detail
Public Power & Utility ("PPU") offered me a reasonable contract price to use them as my electricity supplier instead of the supplier selected by my utility company, PSE&G. Since PSE&G tells me what their supplier would have charged on each monthly bill, I could see that I was saving $10-$15 a month with PPU. But as soon as my contract period ended, PPU turned the tables on me and began charging me $12-$20 MORE each month than the PSE&G supplier.
I decided to switch to another supplier which offered me a solid 2-year contract at a set kwh rate which would save me more than PPU had saved me during my contract period, and I informed PPU. WHAM!--on their final bill, PPU chrged me over $82 more than the PSE&G supplier would have charged, an obvious attempt to gouge me!
I phoned Customer Service to request at least a partial refund of this excessive charge and was refused. I then wrote to the Customer Service Manager at their HQ and received no response whatsoever. Ok, so I'm out 80 bucks, but at least I can warn other potential customers about this improper practice so that they'll steer clear of PPU. The irony is that PPU will lose a lot more money as a result of this than if they had settled this matter in a reasonable way with me.
