I purchased a car for my son at Public Motors. It took 2 weeks for the inital repairs to be done before we actually got the car. He drove the car for 5 days and again it needed to return to the dealer for repairs. Public Motors had the car for over a week again fixing the car. We got the car back and he drove it for a few days. Again, it was making noises and needed to go back to the shop. ALL of the repairs that needed to be done were to be a part of their "Guaranteed Inspection" process.
They not only didn't inspect it initially, they returned it to us with obivous issues. There were safety lights out on the dash! The final straw was the fob would not open the door. It would turn the lights on and open the trunk, but it wouldn't open the door. The car was a piece of junk!
I called Public Motors numerous times and they would NEVER return my call. I would be put on hold when I called or they would hang up on me as they have caller ID. I finally went and sat in their showroom for 6 hours. Yes, 6 hours. Robert Martinez, the manager, who was to arrive at work at 9:00 am did not come in until 12:30. He finally and hesitanly met with me.
I nicely explained the situation and told him I wanted my money back. Out of the 5 weeks that we owned the car, Public Motors had it for over 3 and it now needed more repairs. Mr. Martinez agreed to buy it back, but the story doesn't end there.
Public Motors was to contact Wells Fargo to get the pay off for the loan as I had made 1 payment. We are now 2 weeks later and Public Motors has never called. I have attempted to contact Mr. Martinez and he refuses to take my calls. He also refuses to call me back. I am once again left on hold or the receptionist hangs up on me.
It is now time for another payment, and I do not want my credit affected. I have tried working with Wells Fargo and Public Motors will not call them back either.
DO NOT purchase a car from Public Motors! My son does not have a car to drive and school is starting in 3 weeks! I can't afford to purchase another until this mess is cleaned up.
