I have read hundreds of complaints about PTI all over the internet. Thus far all of tem are true. This company redifines EVIL!
First of all it is a matter of fact and record that PTI paid a 50,000 campaign contribution to their local US represenative. Shortly thereafter, a bill was introduced to exempt paid by the mile employees from the minimum wage law. They actually tried to get a law to help them pay LESS then minimum wage! Happily that bill failed passage.
I also have read numerous accounts of PTI mistreating their employees, cheating them and unjustly firing them. There IS a reason for all of this. There are numerous Government programs that actually pay companies when they hire people. Especially those who recieve food stramps or other forms of Government assistance. In many cases PTI will recieve a check for the entire first years salary for that person. Therefore, it is to PTI's advantage to have an enormous turnover rate. They DO NOT want loyal, dedicated, educated people in their employ. They intentionally make the job, the pay and the conditions atrocious as to facilitate a high turn over rate. The more they have quit or can fire the more they can hire.
They routinely short people on their pay checks and make them jump through hoops to get paid faily. The company has had and still has several class action law suits agaisnt it. The complaints are too numerous to even list but I thought I'd let people know why they treat their empoyees like garbage!
Hello I was recently hired to work for PTI. At first the job was ok as far as amount of work. It is set up to be fair. when done with a run you would go to the back of the line to take a crew out. Then I had a disagreement with my supervisor, Then the work just stoped. She would redirect runs away from me. I would get an otmated call telling me there is a run available. when I call in to get it , It would be reassigned. , all with in seconds. That supervisor would wathc thebord all day and take runs away from me. Then assign me 2 runs aday that only paid $ 24 each. All in a 12 to 14 hour period.It is a shame the way they pay thier workers. But if the van is late to pick up a crew they Pay the railroad a 300..00 a minite fine. But they pay thier workers nothing and the have vans that are very dangerious to drive. Either you drive it or you make no money at all. The D.O.T Should investigate this company. Due to the fact they require thier drivers to work upto a 15 hour shift. That long period of work is dangerious to the genaral Public on the road the drivers and the rail road workers they transport. Will somebody in congress please take a look at this very dangerious problem, and working condictions.
