I purchased a security system from Protect America over 2.5 years ago. The system was a take over of an another security system. Protect America gave us instructions and parts to install a new security system. The system would not work. The company refused to come out and install it. We had a non-working product. We asked for our money back. The company said that we signed a contract, and we owed them two years of payments. If we failed to to pay them regardless of whether or not their product worked, they would trash our credit and send us to collections.
So out of fear, we paid them. Two years later, after paying $34.95 a month for something that never worked, I noticed they were still charging our checking account. I called them, and they said that I had a three year contract not a two year. This was a lie.
I do not know what to do other than to close my checking account. They may trash my credit, but at this point I don't care.
The customer service was great before I signed the contract. once the contract signed, no support whatsoever. many issues with the alarm, alarm permit, and good luck making them give you a call back.... I simply gave up
