ProGuard Warranty, Inc. Reviews

On January 10,2015 we purchased a 2000 bmw from a local dealership and were advised to purchase the warranty in the event ttht something occured within 90 days so that we could be covered.

Well after putting a little over 200 miles on the car, the car began to overheat so we took it to a repair shop for a diagnosis. The representative called to inform us that the cars engine was gone and it would cost almost $7,000.00 to repair.

Well we thougt how lucky we were to have purchased the warrant to cover the motor. Well to our suprise, we were advised the repairs were denied by Proguard. I called the adjuster to discuss and he cited that because the car overheated, they could not cover the repairs. I then inquired as to how could I appeal this decisio and he could barely answer the question. I also asked him for something in writing outlining his decision to deny those cost as I am an insurance adjuster and I am aware in most cases, each denial must be specific and you have to inform your clients as to the basis of such a denial. I was informed by Charlene that this is not required by their agency.

So I explained that per the informatiom that was provided, I could request an arbitration and the judge could decide on the facts of the case and to whom should I send my appeal to. She indicated she could not provide this information and she would refer me to the claims manager. I have yet to receive a call from anyone else from their agency. This was a rip off and the car repair shop stated the engine was propbably bad prior to the car overheating thus they are liable for the repairs.

DEALER SHOULD HAVE PAID FOR MOTOR

I just wanted to say that i had bought a car from a dealer this past February and i had a motor issue also, i drove the car for about 350 miles and the car started to smoke, well i took it in to a garage and the mechanic told me that i need a new motor and yes i also had a warranty but in my case i felt the dealer was responsible, the mechanic told me the same as he told you this motor had problems when i bought the car, the warranty company was just doing its job, the dealer should be responsible, if the dealer had checked the car out before he placed it for sale he would of seen the motor had issues, if you are buying a car from a car dealer they should know how to check out the car this is there business and if they don't check it out its your responsibility to make them aware of the problem, Its as if you bought the car with a scratch on the car and you call your car insurance company and placed a claim on the scratch its the dealers responsibility to take care of the car before you buy it. DONT BE ONE OF THOSE CONSUMERS THAT IS TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE WARRANTY AND INSURANCE COMPANIES

THANK YOU CONCERNED CONSUMER

CLAIM

THE VEHICLE HAS GONE ONLY 200 MILES, I THINK YOUR ISSUES IS BETWEEN YOU AND THE DEALER, NOT THE WARRANTY COMPANY.

THE REPAIR SHOP HAD INDICATED THE ENGINE WAS BAD PRIOR TO THE CAR OVERHEATING, THEREFORE THIS APPEARS TO BE AN EXISTING CONDITION BEFORE YOUR PURCHASE, END RESULT TAKE IT BACK TO YOUR DEALER.
