This company "Professional Appliance Repair Reno" sent us a technician named James Crain to fix our dryer. He had an appointment to come to our house the following Friday (6/27) around 1-3pm. He did not show up until 6pm. He complained that he was really tired from working on a fridge earlier that day, but to be honest, he looked a little "out of it". He told us he would come back the following day (6/28) around 10-12.
That Saturday (6/28) he showed up at 12:15pm. He also had a young apprentice with him to work on the dryer. They told us that they needed to go buy the motor and that since he was short on funds (really?!?!?), I needed to write a check for $150 to cover it. Silly me, I trusted him and gave him the check. He came back 45 mins later with a part and then 20 mins later stated that he needed to go get a tool from Harbor Freight to complete the repair, 30 mins later he returned.
After another hour, he told us that he broke the fan and would return on Monday (6/30) from 8-10am to complete the repair. Never showed up. We tried calling his number and someone answered once and said, "wrong number". The other times I tried calling, it went straight to voicemail.
I called company and they told me they will continue to try reaching him.
The next day (7/1) I called once again and they told me that all I could do is try to call James back. I tried. They also told me that he is their only tech and that they are only an answering service for him. I asked if there was a manager or someone that could be held accountable for this rip off and they said no and just kept repeating that they are an answering service. So then I asked if this was basically James' company and the woman said, "yeah". What? They even suggested that I block my phone number and try calling him again. Really??? If they are an answering service FOR JAMES, how come they can't even reach him?
We got ripped off. We gave him $150 and he left us with a disassembled dryer with a now broken fan.
