I wanted to test HMA out due to them claiming to have a large amount of IP addresses and an app. My main choice is an app to work on my android phone, after purchasing the program it took several attempts to get in as a beta tester for the android app. For the price you pay, an android app should already be out in place.
The app worked ok but lots of bugs and IP's not working correctly. Just 5 days before my first month (30 day PAID trial @ $11.52) was to end I start having problems connecting on the beta version for android app. I was unable to connect half the time and when 2 days before it ended I was able to connect at all in the android app. I contacted the support team and they couldn't help. It was a big run around between telling me to upgrade to the new version, which i already had with same issue. Then they tell me I have to use OPEN Source (third party program) to manually input IP addresses to use on my phone. This was VERY uncalled for and should not be allowed to as a paid customer.
With the date closing in on my end of first month and HMA claiming to now have an actual Android working APP, no longer in Beta Testing, I purchased the year subscription. (Yes even with the issue I had and still had when getting new subscription) Guess what, I paid for the new subscription $78.66 and my app also ended up updated to the now working -NON BETA Android App. It worked for 2-3 days before falling back to same problem. Again, I contacted HMA support and same run around with not progress.
HMA closes all the open support tickets and I am left in the dark with an unworkable app for my Android phone. The program works on my desktop but my most priorty use is on my phone. DO NOT Use HMA, they will do the same to you as they did to many customers. I am now paying for a full year of service plus the first month, total of $90.18 for a program I CAN NOT USE. They wouldn't even refund the remaining usage on my account after asking to cancel subscription due to the issue.
