"Prime Important" called my parents house last night, trying to gain access to my Mom's computer. A man wth an Indian accent claimed they were from Microsoft and our computer was "hacked and had viruses." Claimed they had the only way to fix the computer. I had warned my Mother about these scam artists, so she refused and hung up.
They repetively called back 10 times, until I finally picked up. The idiot demanded to speak to my Mom, they had her name, and I refused. He became belligerent and yelling, demanding to know who I was and then told me "there was nothing I could do to stop him or find out who or where he was located. We told him that we had called to police & had his number and company name on our caller ID. He became even more aggitated and I hung up on him.
No further call backs, as of this morning. Reading these other reviews, I assume they call us again tonight. Bad people! Avoid at all cost!!!
this company called May 7 and threatened to put a virus on my computer if I did not take their McAfee/window 7 security I thought they were a company I had already paid previously for other problems and security They led me to believe that it was free and then wanted $360. after I inadvertly took control of my computer for a ""cleansing"" I finally told them I did not want it or need it I was not going to give them a penny, That I would buy a new computer before I did that, They continued to harass me I hung up they called back and again I had to take the phone off the hook. Then tonight May 9 they called 6 times threatening and harassing again and called me a f****** a******!
Prime Important began calling my home number after filling out a refinance questionaire online. Representatives from this number have called incessanlt for 2 weeks non-stop at all hours of the day and night.
I have never filed a complaint on this website before, but this particular case got my blood boiling and I wanted to make others aware of the harrasment my family has endured at the hands on these idiots. These fools would call every 10 minutes from 6am to 11pm. After being told repeatedly that we were not interested, they continued to call and leave messages "apologizing" for their behavior on the phone and begging me to call them back.
I believed that my only way out of this situation was to actually hear them out, but when I tried to deny this service for the 17493817483 on the phone, the Prime Important representative threatend me and my family.
I just blocked the number (1-855-662-4434) and if you are getting calls from this company, I suggest you do the same.
THEY CALLED ME TO EXPLAIN THAT I HAD BEEN HACKED BY SOMEONE IN RUSSIA. THEY SHOWED ME A SCREEN THAT CONTAINED SOME OF MY INFORMATION AND A LINK TO A RUSSIAN COMPUTER.
THEY SAID THAT THAT THEY WERE CALLING FROM AN INTERNET PROVIDER. I THINK IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN MICROSOFT.
THEY SAID THAT I NEEDED TO PURCHASE SOME INTERNET SECURITY APPS.
I WAS CONVINCED THAT THEY WERE LEGITIMATE AND PURCHASED SEVERAL PROGRAMS TO INSURE MY SECURITY.
THEY SAID THAT I WOULD NEVER, EVER BE HACKED AGAIN BY ANYONE,ANYWHERE.ANYTIME.
ABOUT ONE MONTH LATER THEY CALLED TO TELL ME OF ANOTHER SECURITY BREACH.
I RESPONDED BY TELLING THE CALLER THAT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE OF THE APPS THAT I HAD PURCHASED AND I HUNG UP.
THEY CALLED ME AGAIN YESTERDAY AND TODAY SEVERAL TIMES AND LEFT A MESSAGE ABOUT A SECURITY BREACH ON MY COMPUTER.
Man with India accent called stating he was from Microsoft informing me that my computer's security may not be secure or up todate. He would fix my computer, clean it up and get it running well. He asked me to type in an address in the computer header so he could take over my computer to work on it.
Oh, Oh. Fell for this a couple of years ago and my computer never worked so badly after that. It worked okay for a while, but it slowly got worse and worse with lots of pop-up that interferred with everything I was doing. I even checked my setting to make sure my pop-up blocker was on and configured properly, but to no avail. I got tired of it and after awhile, it was so bad, I finally investigated online for ways to fix my computer myself. Months later I finally got it done w/o calling the "support" number of Prime Importnt to repair it for a price.
I initially paid the fee they requested ..about $350 or $360. Because they told me that if I did not, I could lose all the info. stored on my computer...all my document and pictures. They said that I if I just took my computer to a repair store before they finished with my computer, there was no guarantee the repair shop could recover my data. They of course they did not offer this info. until they had already been in my computer diagnoising it for problems and a "fix." No clue if they put a virus in it for them to "fix" later. Not only this, but they were condesending and treated me like I was an idiot..especially the gal that took my payment information.
When they called again this time, I was already wised up. Burn me once, shame on you; burn me twice, shame on me.
They were very persistant. On the initial call I picked up this time, we talked and when he wanted to take over my computer, I said "NO," and hung up. He immediately called back several times trying to give me the hard sell. Finally I told him that I had called ID and would not pick up the phone and he would be wasting his time. He continued to call back daily for about a week from March 28th to April 6th, 2015. Not Sure if he is done calling.
Not only was he very insistant, but so much so to the point of being rude talking to me in a very condesending voice and attitude.
