Not having heard of Preston Wadkins before I moved here, I hired him to build a shop for me. At that time he was using the name DJ & M Construction. I did not find out he was formerly Barn Builders of Arkansas, that went under because of his business practices, until later. He and his crew were slow moving and shoddy builders. I was trying to move from where I was living because our place was already sold, so I needed that shop finished as quickly as possible. The crew never brought any food with them so my wife and I fed them while they were here. One day they actually brought stuff for sandwiches and I loaned them an ice chest to keep their food in. They took my ice chest home with them and I never got it back. One day Preston came to me and told me he had gotten a bad check from somebody for work he did. He said that put him in a bind and if he could get the rest of my money they could go ahead and finish my shop. I was hesitant at first but he held up a Bible he kept in the truck and said, "I've never cheated anybody and I never will." I gave him the money to finish my shop and I never saw him again.
