I purchased a vacation package from Preferred Guest Resorts about a year ago. I even upgraded it a couple of times when they continued to call to make offers.
Since that time I lost my car in an accident that wasn't my fault, and as a result I lost my job as well. I was forced to move because I had no more income. I've gotten a new job and a vehicle and even a place to live. I am pretty much back on my feet, but certainly do not have the time or money to travel due to unforeseeable, drastic life events. Especially since these wonderful "packages" do not include air fare or transportation.
When I requested a refund I was denied. I ended up being transferred to a quality assurance representative that informed me that packages are not refundable, even partially, after 30 days. I told him that I hadn't selected any dates, or even locations. I didn't understand what his company had spent money on for me or why I couldn't have mine back. He iterated that there are no refunds after 30 days.
I tried to explain my situation, which he had no interest in hearing, and he reiterated that there are no refunds after 30 days. I asked him if this was even legal, and he told me that most states require refunds for 3 days, and he gave me 10 times that long because they offer refunds for 30 days.
He did offer one solution. He, like every person you speak to in this company, will be happy to take more of your money. For a modest $100 fee you can extend the expiration date of your package. I don't know why they need $100. I guess the interest they have been earning off of my money that they've had for a year and haven't had to spend a dime of hasn't been enough.
Anyway, I'm probably going to continue paying a company for a vacation that I'll never take. Maybe I'll get some paid vacation in the next 12 months, and maybe I won't. My point is unless you are going to take a vacation in the next 30 days, don't use this company. A lot can happen in a year, and this company will not care or help you if your travel budget changes.

Preferred Guest Resorts is a promotional and reservation company specializing in providing fun and affordable vacations around the world. Leads are acquired through several sources, including referrals from previous and existing clients, business partnerships, and various websites. The typical sales process begins with a potential customer calling Preferred Guest Resorts to look into booking a destination and identifying the dates they wish to travel. “Preferred Guest Resorts will [then] qualify then potential customer for financial ability, dates, and destination(s),” explains Michelle Morse, VP of Marketing for Preferred Guest Resorts. If the potential customer qualifies, the company will then explain the terms and conditions, plus benefits such as the refund policy, travel protection, etc. The client will receive a text message and e-mail to confirm the agreement and welcome them. Seven days prior to the trip, the client receives a follow-up welcome call, reminding them of the trip.

When a company or individual joins the Ripoff Report Corporate Advocacy Program, they must make a commitment to us – in writing – to 'doing whatever it takes to make things right with their customers.
What does that mean? It means that Ripoff Report expects that members of our Corporate Advocacy Program will review and respond to ALL customer complaints promptly. It means that every complaint will be taken seriously and every customer will be treated fairly and with respect. It means if a customer did not receive what they expected, the company will work with that customer to fix the issue. It means that if a customer requests a refund and if there is any reasonable basis for that request, we expect the customer will be given a prompt refund (some refund requests may not be reasonable, so this does not mean a refund is guaranteed in every case). “Making things right” can mean lots of different things to different people, but our point is this - by working closely with the company or individual to resolve any disputes, Ripoff Report can track the footprints of customer service to ensure that our Corporate Advocacy Program members are doing everything they can to treat customers fairly and to increase their customer satisfaction.

I bought this dream vacation in November 2013 and told the sales person that I cannot go on the vacation in 2013.Was told that I have 18 months to travel.
I wanted to book the first break away in March 2014, only to learn that the fees for the trip to Costa Rica will be $300 and then I wondered if this would be the fees for all the trips that I bought, 6 in total.
I knew that I could not use this vacation package and called the customer services today. I spoke to Tony who told me that I cannot cancell anymore because of their 30 day cancell policy.
My point is this, if they told me the fees would be for that amount then I would have cancelled before the 30 days ending. Some of the other fees are actually $251 for myself and my husband. The company did not give me all the details of the fees upfront and in my mind a fee is about $50 and not $500. I dont have anybody that can take this over and would prefer to have my money back.
I now saw on the internet that they scammed other people too and it is so sad that you first have to check the internet out before you can do bussiness with anybody.
Please stop this company in ripping of the consumer.
