I purchase a picture packet from Giant Eagle in Wadsworth while I was grocery shopping. I had to pay ten dollars up front cash and my pictures were scheduled for two weeks later on June 28th. I received a message very late the night beofre my appointment saying the location had changed to some where else in Wadsworth. I then began a game of phone tag trying to contact the lady that had called. I never actually spoke with her as she never answered my calls and only messaged me back. Through her messages she gave me another number to call and speek with someone. I then start calling that number and leaving messages and again get no where. After calling a threatening to call the BBB I get a call back form a lady July 5th and I explain to her that I was not able to go to a different location in Wadsworth because I dont know the area and I only signed up for them because I would be at Giant Eagle grocery shopping the day they were to be takenShe apologizes and agrees to refund me my money. She asked that I send her the origional slip showing my appointment and that I paid the ten dollars. She gives me a PO Box to mail it to saying that she checks that mail everyday and this way she could get it right out to me. I mailed it the next day after making a copy for my records with all documentation of when I mailed it and along with call dates. Now its the end of Auguast I have nothing. I again have started calling her and of course I only get the machine.
Portraits USA is the same company as United Studios Of America, over 36 Ohio Attorney General consumer fraud complaints, 10 this year alone. Over 150 BBB reports, Same guy Dean Nelson, that was the president and ceo of United Studios of America is now the President and ceo of Portraits USA. When you check out United Studios at the Ohio Attorney Generals web site note the address 4450 Beldon Villiage Street NW, Canton OH, then check out Portraits USA who has 1 fraud report and only in business for 3 months, hmmm same address then check out United Studios BBB reports out of Akron OH, note the address at bottom of report looks familiar 4450 Beldon Street NW Canton, OH 44718, how much consumer fraud can 1 mans tiny little company commit untill the Attorney General say's enough is enough. SAME COMPANY = SAME PEOPLE = SAME FRAUD !!!
I cannot believe the rip off from this company portraits usa. I walked in at food depot and there was a woman there at a booth saying they were doing a promotional for mother's day and only 7 dollars for some portraits. If im not mistaken it was 21 portriats. I was told it was gonna be a 6 dollar seating fee so I said why not and I signed up. Fast forward to the day I was having my pictures taken I was told in a few weeks they would contact me to come and pick my photos up in which they did. The day I arrived to see my photos I found out the 7 dollars was only for one shot which is okay, but the lady kept trying to persuade me into purchasing a package. Finally I gave in and bought one of the packages and I paid cash for that. Then she told me she needed to charge my card a dollar for something that she explained. I agreed and today is 08/21/14 and I found out they charged my card $99.84 on the 19th of august 2014 and tried to charge my card $141.00 on 08/21/14 and had also charged my card $5.00 and $10.00 every week since June that I was not aware of. I was not even aware of them having to charge my card for any more money since I already paid for my photos cash. Ive been calling the number I have on hand and no one is answering. This is ridiculous. Its a scam. They take people's card information and make transactions months down the road. I never authorized for any of these transactions and I already paid cash for my photos so why am I being charged for what I am not aware of? The lady tried to sell me the oil painting and I refused that as I told her I would never spend $500.00 on an oil painting. I am so upset. This is stealing from people.
In February/March 2014 my family sat for a portrait in Pendleton SC. The photos were lovely and we enjoyed seeing our toddler's smile as most parents do. When we went in for the sales pitch on March 21st 2014 we entered into the agreement with no issues and left with several of the portraits in hand. Unfortunately we never received our photo CD "in a couple of weeks" as promised. In May 2014 I contacted the corporate office in Ohio listed on our receipt, the lady could not find any information on the order but promised to contact me back. I never heard from her so I took to social media. I warned others of the SCAM on Facebook and was contacted via that page and advised they would check into it. I never heard back from this promise either. It is now June 16th 2014, I have called both the corporate office in Ohio and the 1-877-660-6962 complaint number and only gotten voice mail (this was on a Monday, no holiday and well within their established business hours). This was not a custom order and no one can or will tell me where the photo CD is. I have paid $159.00 to be ignored by this company and not get a promised product or return call. I have read some previous reports here and the rebuttals and I assure you I am an angry, legitimate customer that is legitimately out of real cash! I truly wish now I had checked into their "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully this lesson will save someone else the pain and heartache we have suffered. Those photos were a moment in time that cannot be replaced and we are now the wiser for the ripoff but still very angry!!
Call the stores corporate office and explain your problem and watch how fast you get taken care of and watch how fast they terminate their relationship with Portraits. USA, the owners name is Eric Scholer and his buddy in crime is Dean Nelson, these 2 have hundreds of Attorney General fraud reports across the country from their prior company United Studios of America, they tell the store chains that all these complaints are disgruntled employees and due to their huge volume of business the complaints are minimal, lol they have very little volume and all the complaints are real. Good luck, this company is good at the fraud they do and they are cons!
They catch you in the grocery store and hassle you to take this one time "deal" for just $10.00. When you find you have to hand over the money there they make an appointment for you with out asking what time would be best, and inform you that it is another $6.00 when you get there. When you show up for your appointment you are in the middle of the grocery store with a white sheeted area. They snap pictures of your family and inform you of a time you should come back to pick up your pictures. When you go to pick up your pictures, is when the real fun starts. They give you the pictures they selected as your "package" and tell you that you can only buy the rest while there or they will be destroyed and you will have no option to buy them at a later date. They then offer a payment plan for the horrible prices they have! You literally get nothing for $400.00. With Supposed "free" Extras. When you decide that the price is to expensive for what you are getting and decide to just get the disk. You will find that it is $200.00! For a disk of mediocre pictures! You are told if you accept the payment plan you have so long to cancel your order. NOT TRUE! I called the very next day to cancel my "order" because I felt that the quality of the photos was not conducive to the price I was paying nor was the quantity. I got the run-around. From I don't know what you are wanting miss, to I am not sure I can't cancel orders you will need to speak to a manager! I waited TWO WEEKS for a call back from a manager... Only to be treated absolutely awful.
The man spoke down to me, and was a total chauvinistic pig! He literally told me that he didn't need to talk to me he needed to speak to the "Man of the house" So he could speak to someone that knew what was going on in my household! I let him know what was on my mind and hung up my phone. My husband called back to confirm that we did want to cancel our order. That was when he found out that they would not allow it until we paid for our "free gift" Given to us for our purchase. Another $30.00 has to be forked out to them before they will cancel the order and until then they want to charge me $25.00 a day and all legal fees they have to pursue to get us to pay for our "free gift" or something ridiculous like that! This business is running a scam. Be careful! There are more reputable companies out there. Heck I know free lance photographers that are way better and have better pricing than these scam artists!
I was approached by a guy at Krogers to have my portrait taken with my family we ordered you know the usual wallet size pictures but they gave us pictures they set for key chains and they were so small like you can have in your locketwe went to our appointment time and we were all crowded into the lunchroom of the store for the employees and he had scheduled several appointments at the same time the man was taking pictures he was doing a great job and then it was our turn we said that we would have to call back or they will call us to come pick up our pictures so we did and we got there they showed us the nice selection small pictures and then they showed us the really big pictures of his landlady she told us that
we could get 3 portrait pictures a CD and all the pictures they have there in black and white and in color for $500 it seemed like a really good idea and she seemed down when I said can I just pick my own collection of pictures and pay how much that will cost she said that I couldn't do that so I brought the $500 pictures + 2 CDand that was in November of 2014 it is now April of 2015 and I have yet to see my picturesI called her number constantly leaving messages no one called me back they call me back in one time and got an attitude and told me that I have to call back for the tracking number which she could have given me right then and there
so now everytime I call back the phone keeps ringing nonstop or it goes straight to voicemail I can understand that since you might have a lot of people calling but I have yet to receive my pictures and I leave my number every time and no one calls you back they say that you have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for delivery and it's been since November and still I'm waiting and it's so hard to get in contact with them so many people have had the same complaint the exact same complaint yet us a portrait keep saying that that's how business works in that we need to give them time to get to our picture but no two people who have never met each other should have the exact same story either this us a portrait is a lie or you're that busy that you
can't deliver somebody's pictures clean or do you have an email address or website we could go on there and put in our tracking number to see where are portraits are located at so we know when and where we're going to get themso yes I believe portraits USA is a rip off in Canton Georgia they have very poor business and I will sue if I do not get my pictures or refundin reading one of these complaints I see that portrait USA has responded back and insulted one of the people who are complaining about not receiving their pictures that is not how businesses work so that makes it.
Recently me and my wife were ripped off by Portraits USA. They had a deal with KROGER, where we can take few picture for $ 20 . When we went there , Photographer took 10 picture, We did not ask him to take all the pictures, The day we suppose to pick up our picture , They gave us the worst 2 picture. and we had to pay for all other picture were nicer, I never had a experience like that.

Total space cadet!
You realize you to sound like an idiot. Your description of what happened is totally inadequate and inaccurate.

Fraudulent review!
You're either talking about a different company or you are making a fraudulent claim. We don't give out free gifts!
