PooPrints is Fabricated its Pet Waste Business and Doesn’t Know What the Abbreviation DNA Stands
I had the absolute funniest experience today, however, it made me curious. I would like to share what I found with my property manager colleagues, hope this helps.
A PooPrints representative came to our property today. But it wasn’t the first time, he had visited before as a Pooper Scooper Pick-up Service, but today he was a DNA expert, so he claims. I hate to admit this, but I sucked in Biology class and I wasn’t really sure what DNA stood for however I was very intrigued. Come to find out, neither did the PooPrints guy. I will spare you my attempt at repeating what he said DNA stood for. My assistant property manager happened to be in veterinary school and she properly informed us on the correct pronunciation of DNA.
So after he left, we decided to do a little digging and it got even more interesting. Here are a couple of direct quotes from the www.pooprints.com website.
“(after all, they borrowed the idea from us) there are a few things we hope you keep in mind as you choose your pet waste management vendor”
It didn’t take much digging to discover that PooPrints had been sued a few years ago for a pet DNA patent infringement by Mars. It looks like they have borrowed a few things as well in fact my assistant manager indicated her school has been offering theses services since 1955 and now uses a commercial company which is PooPrint’s competitor. The PooPrints guy became very defensive and rude when asked about their competition. He continuously insulted the competitor throughout his presentation. He even made the same statement that’s on their website
“(We have the experience, we invented the technology)”
We are pretty sure Pooprints is inflating is credentials so that potential customers will go with them, don’t be fooled there is an option. Those suspicions were only heightened by their claims when they have boots on the ground with better pricing.
When it came down to it they informed us Pooprints had the best prices and is the longest standing firm in the market. A few more things we found not be true. When will it stop! The competition surely seems to be much more affordable with payment options of $1.00 per door or $29.95 per pet. The Pooprints guy told me their price was $49.95 per pet then he went down to $39.95 and asked if I was serious he thinks he could get it to $34.95 he needed to speak with corporate and said if I can refer him more deal he could get it down possibly lower. We truly appreciated the price reduction to gain our business however it just made me feel uneasy from this DNA Expert. We had a recent conference call with all our property locations and this bait and switch price game is something they do with all their boots on the ground.
I see a pattern forming….PooPrints, Doesn’t know what DNA stands for………PooPrints, States they started DNA Matching……….PooPrints, Sued for borrowing a patent yet thinks it a motto point…….PooPrints states they have boots on the ground yet they still needed to order the supplies and knew very little about DNA and how hard is it to watch someone swab a pet and pick up poop. Really!
I must say, I am glad we did some research before we got Ripped Off by these technology thieves. We have properties in several places across the US namely in California but also in Nevada, Seattle, Chicago, Florida and Atlanta stay away from Pooprints. We went with the right company and it wasn’t Pooprints!
Not so fast with my Dog’s DNA (I don’t trust PooPrints) DOG OWNERS BEWARE OF POOPRINTS
My property sent out this notice that we had to give our dog’s DNA to a business named PooPrints. At first, I thought, oh well another rule I can’t do anything about, that’s what my apartment decided to do. Until, I looked these guys up on line. The first thing I saw was that they had been sued, and all they seemed to care about was poop. They didn’t have anything else for pets or pet owners as benefits or relief that my pets DNA was not being used from some mom/pop style lab experiments. It’s like they are literally trying to get rich off of people for dog poop.
I wasn’t able to find out much about their laboratory. They are not registered with any public certification or accreditation for DNA testing or processing. Which is exactly my point. Who am I giving my pets DNA to??? Are these guys governed by anybody, or do they report to anyone? Even their customers on Amazon were complaining about them and have been for years. I own a dog and a cat but my property didn’t want to test my cat and I found that very odd and somewhat unfair. It appears to me that this will open their system up for a lot of false testing and inflated bills for the manager. I know for a fact my cat will climb on top of a car and poop when it cold outside so who’s to say all cats or domesticated and burry their poop. Come to find out they cannot test cats they don’t have the ability based on what the Seattle Washington Pooprint rep indicated. He told us in our HOA meeting we invented this poop matching business and control the market. He was a bit cocky and arrogant to say the least.
So, after a night of digging I went back to my property manager and needless to say, listening to your residents is probably too much like right and she went ahead with PooPrints much to my dismay. The property manager provided me with Pooprints contact number.
I decided to call their offices and ask a few questions, they told me I could store information and gain access to the database however it never worked while on the phone with the rep and still hasn’t to this day. They told me I would get discounts on products but they don’t offer anything I would need for my pet only commercial Dog waste stations. They indicated my DNA was stored in a secure place and the online system was secure. We logged once with a temporary ID they provided and saw all types of information that was not my own and found it alarming that it was that easy to see other pets information and the owners. Needless to say we have placed our 60 day notice to vacate this property and we will not live anywhere that deals with a shady vendor like PooPrints.
