PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. Reviews

I have an automatic withdrawal that comes out every month. I had enough funds to cover it. I checked my account online and it had the auto withdrawal posted and I still showed a positive balance. The next day, I checked and my account was charged a 36.00 overdraft fee. I had "pending items" which are now not going to clear because of the overdraft fee making the account short. They told me that the pending items went against the account balance first before the auto withdrawal which made the withdrawal bounce.

I told her I knew that one of the pending items would not clear and therefore I was making a deposit before it posted so it would clear and she said it's too late. Why, if the pending items are not posted yet, are they not giving you time to deposit money in your account? Why do they count pending items against your balance before they actually post and therefore cause other items to bounce even though the money was actually there for those items? This is just bad business and I think there should be a class action filed because obviously I'm not the first one this has happened to.

I've been a PNC customer for years and my employer also does business with them as our paychecks are auto deposited there. I may have to find another bank because this is absurd. It is near impossible for us to know what items are going against our accounts in what order when we can go online and it shows something entirely different. What good is checking your account online if your balance is never what they have at the bank.

PNC offered me free checking and business chaecking accounts as well as a personal savings account which I establised all my business and personal bills around. One day I noticed an account spun out of control with an unauthorized charge on my account that caused it to overdraft generatiting massive amounts of overdraft charges. I called to tell them this was a fraudulent charge that caused all this and come to find out it was them that had chagred me. I explained I didn't agree to these terms and I would not have opened the account under these terms either and that I had been lied to if this was what they were enforcing on me. They fixed the charge the one time and all my subsequent accounts began experincing the same thing all at differnt times making it very hard to correct. Also my wait time which used to be quick to contact them now takes hours and they give you a run around until you actually get someone and now they say they will charge everybody these $7 a month and $12 a month charges to use PNC.. I have 4 accounts and simply cannot afford the 50+ a month it was costing me.. they informed me that they don't care and it will even close my bank accounts I use to pay my bills with as a result.. I now live in the country and far from a bank and this is a huge disaster for me.. It has wasted so much of my time and it such an obivious theft!!!! They said if I kept a minimum balance of 1500 a month they would waive the charge.. I wonder why? Total bait and swith and has caused me great distresss, I never agreed to rip myself off and if it were a person stealing my money I would pucnch them in the face. This is corporate bulling at it's finest, we need to stop these crooks from hurting poor people!!

I thought my account had been closed with PNC. Many weeks later I got an alert on my phone stating that I had almost 48.00 in overdraft fees. I contacted them and they put in an request to have money penalties removed. Wrong... Request denied. An on-line person took them off after reading all of the past requests to have account closed. She promised to have it closed. Now, four more weeks into this my account suddenly had a debtt from an unknown EBAY account. Totallyu unauthorized by me. Now account cant be closed again because any action within 30 days will prevent closure. Imagine that s***. I contacted EBAY seller. They apologized and returning money. Now PNC has kept account open so they can debt another 15.00 in monthly charges from my account causing me to be in overdraft status again. I live in Missouri where there are no PNC Banks. The smart a** from PNC told me that if I wanted my account closed that I would have to walk into the nearest branch. Yea, a real funny guy. I told him that I am getting an attorney involved. The funny f***** then said that I'd be contacted within 48 hours by phone. I assured this worthless f*** that I would post all of the conversations on the net so unexpecting customers will know what can happen to them. Put your money in a pillow, it and you will be safe from PNC fraud and abuse. I have asked at least nine times to have account closed. Still not done.

I will definitely be closing my account with PNC after what has happened. Over the past 2 years, with 2 different accounts that involved no risky behavior, PNC has somehow let my account numbers get into the hands of scammers. Every couple weeks I get a call from a fake law firm claiming I owe money to companies I have never used before.

These scams somehow have my entire account number and Social Security Number. The only people I have ever given my ssn to are PNC and employers. Then, recently, my free checking classic became standard checking, which resulted in a 7 dollar charge to my account I have been trying to close because of this. This 7 dollar charge put me in the negative, 7 dollars.

I was not notified that this change would happen. I was not told of any new charges I would be receiving. Had I known this, I would have closed my accounts sooner. However, as I hadn't received a scam call in quite a while, I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and believing they had handled it. Then, within 5 hours, I got charged this 7 dollars AND got another scam call.

PNC has officially received my vote for worst company in the USA for 2014.
