This company is shady. I registered to work as a Substitute Teacher with Plum Education back in November 2012. I accepted my first assignment with them in May 2013 for Wayne Metro in Hamtramack Michigan and was vastly disappointed at the lack of communication between Plum Education and Wayne Metro because when I showed up to work, the people at Wayne Metro didn't know I was coming, or at least they acted like they didn't know, but that is another story.
Was removed from this location and sent to a Wayne Metro location in Garden City Michigan. Everything went well and I completed the 7 day assignment, but it took Plum 4 weeks to mail me my check for completing this assignment.
I accepted another assignment with Plum Education after that at the end of June. It was a 2 day assignment for the Wayne Metro located in Redford Michigan. Again, poor communication between Plum and the site led to myself and another Sub showing up. I arrived first and went through their official assignment acceptance protocol so I was the Sub who got to stay to complete the 2 day assignment.
I completed the assignment, which was for 2 days in June, and here it is August 2, 2013 and I still have not been paid for completing that assignment. I have made numerous calls and I have sent numerous emails and no one will return the call or the email. It's as if this company and its employees have completely vanished.
This has got to be the most unprofessional Substitute placement agency in Michigan and beyond. They willl send you on an assignment and take their sweet little time paying you for the work you complete, if you get paid at all.
Donot waste your time and the gas in your car showing up for an assignment for these people because you will not be paid for your work.
I was so frustrated that I started to google Plum Education to see if there were any more complaints out there against this company and sure enough, I found another Sub who was stiffed in the same fashion located in Findlay Ohio. Is anyone who worked for this alleged company worried about identity theft seeing how they have ALL our info plus photo???? I haven't worked for them neither will I after hearing about them... But I'm worried about them having my personal info '?' ... Is there anything that can be done?? I plan to contact Better Business B on Tues...
