I applied for a Loan with Plain Green, agreed to one set of terms as listed on the document. I was told I had to repay bi-weekly, so I made my first payment on the due date as stated, and made two payments. My second pay period in the same month, wich would be my third payment towards repaying the loan. The two payments made barely reflected the balance at all. The third payment made, was as if I were making my very first payment.
The Finance charges changed repeatedly, it was never the same, as stated in the documentation as agreed. I continued to repay the loan, even though the finance charges changed, the amount to the principal was not even a fourth of what was repayed towards the loan. I questioned the reasoning of this, even the customer service Rep, did not understand. They wanted three times the amount that was borrowed, even though the loan was being repaid at a shorter term. It seems as though the more I paid, the less added to the principal.
I don't understand how consumers can be charged numerous rates, regardless of what was agreed to in the documentation. I don't see how that is even legal, to charge these outrageous rates. Rates that changes with each transaction, unknowingly to the consumers. This is a scam, that needs to be stopped!!
I have a friend that received threatening phone calls and threats from Plain Green. He has never heard of this company until a few days ago when they contacted him and said he owed them money. He had no idea who it was. They stated that they deposited over $1600 in his account he had when he was married and so we went to the bank and there was never any money deposited into his account. However upon further investigation they were taking money every week out of his account. He never spoke with Plain Green until the other day when they told him he owed over $2200 and they wanted $1070.40 by 2:00 pm that same day or they were taking a warrant out for his arrest. The thing is if he did owe this money you can't be arrested for not paying a debt. They are a scam. They have actions against them If you call the BBB you can find out that they are not legit. They are a scam. They are also breaking the law harassing people like they do. We contacted law enforcement and the BBB. He filed his own action as well. Stay clear of this company!!!!
So, I paid over $2500 for a $1000 loan, this should be illegal, I have taken out $1000 loans before and I never paid over $250 in interest charges and they set up the payments so that was figured in and I didn't pay any more than that. That is okay with me, but 300% interest should be illegal. They are stealing money from people who don't have it otherwise they wouldn't be taking out a loan in the first place.
Plain Green Loans charged me $3260 for a $1000 loan. I tried to contact them a few times and ask if something was wrong with my account but they never responded and after I paid over $2300 I stopped payments because I thought I was being scammed. I have taken out $1000 loans before and I never paid over $260 in interest and when they set up my payment schedule that was added in so I did not pay any more than that by the time I paid the loan off. Plain Green Loans are charging 300% interest which I think should be illegal. That is just wrong to do that to people who borrow money because people who borrow money don't have that much to pay back or they wouldn't be borrowing in the first place.
