We took friends from Indiana to show them where we were going out the next day on our boat. We got out of the car and noticed new docks had been installed it was at sunset and went to the docks to look at the water. My wife thought that she would walk over to the edge to see any wild life that might be there. Thw marina had placed a step down at the ramp the problem is all the boards run all the same way making it look like one contious dock ther is no warning or signs or yellow tape to show that they had PLACED A STEP DOWN. My wife thinking it was one large dock walked over to the edge thinking it was one level. She steped down not seeing that there was a step down and flipped into the water. She cannot swim when she tried to stand up her feet went out from her and into the deep water she went. M friend was clases to her and jumped in to try to help her. By this time she was face down going back under the dock she was drowning. We got to her and pulled her out. She had swallowed alot of water we revived her and she was very clod and shaking from the fall. She had her new $600.00 phone on her and she losjt her new glasses I also lost my new phone. We finally got her into the car. When we got shome she went into shock and could not get warm. I tried to talk her into going to the emergcy room but she said she thought she would be allright. That night I went into the Pineland office and told them what had happened they were very nice and gave me the name of the manager which is Jeffs Wilson. I called and spoke to Jeff he was very apoligetic. I told him that they were at falt for not having any warnings about the step down. I asked that they pay for our loss that we were not the type to sue. He said he would report it to the main office. I sent a letter the the marina requesting them to respond. I get not response and when I talked to Jeff later he said he had nothing to tell me because the main office had not responded. I thought that we were being very fair by asking them to replace what we had loss.
I have our friends that will witness everything I have said. And pictures.
If you go out to Pineland Marina you will fine the safety problem has not been fixed. It is still a safety issue. Now I am thinking of getting a lawyer to solve my issue and when I do it will cost Pineland marina alot more.
