1) DEFECTIVE CAR KEY: With less than 5,000 miles on car, my ignition key began to fall apart. A rep at Pensacola Honda Service blamed & LECTURED me for the defective key. He was very demeaning. The fact was that the key was falling apart due to its cheap, corroding plastic. P'Cola Honda balked, but finally another rep said they would cover the key under my warranty. That was an untruth because the bill my husband brought home showed a charge of $89.95 for a new key. This 1st "defect was blamed on me DESPITE super low mileage."
2) BAD SENSOR WIRE: As total contradictory reason, the dealership BLAMED my low mileage for my sensor wire failing. I was told that because I had such low mialage that a rodent had time to build a nest under the engine and bit through a sensory wire. I asked to see proof. They lifted hood and said a nest was a few feet below the casings/engines (or whatever the terminology is). I asked them to please move the upper casings so I could see the "nest." They replied that would be too labor intensive and too time consuming to remove. It was impossible to see anything a few feet below and underneath all this.
So the logical question I asked was, "How can you possibly have seen a nest either, since it is hidden underneath all of this?" The mechanic said he could tell it must be a rodent because of the wire. He showed me a broken red wire, but it was merely broken with no signs of "chewed-up" marks. Everybody in the service department were arrogant enough to provide no proof, cruel enough to blame me, but worse...greedy enough to stiff me with a bill for $523.56 for parts and service that were covered under warranty. I was warned by people NOT to go to PENSACOLA HONDA to get my car serviced, but according to the service contract, if you carry you car somewhere else to be fixed it can NULL your contract. And i had been foolish enough to purchase the WORTHLESS extended 7-year contract. BE PRE-WARNED!
